There is a local walk to Waternish Point which heads North through a metal farm gate. The area to start with is through a rough grazed field which is full of wild flowers and lots of Orchids. Monday 9th June 2014. June 9, 2014. A trip today to Hecho Valley which is a must for any birders visiting the Pyrenees. First stop was the lowland areas well before Hecho. Drive up the valley and park at the side of the road viewing the good fields on your left. The local farmers were cutting their hay and as such Raptos were everywhere. First seen were. Red Kite, Black Kite, Short Toed Eagle, Egyptian Vulture, Booted Eagle, Common Buzzard, Griffon and CC Marsh Harrier. Were everywhere and a very showy.
