In Kuttanadu Bamboo has become vulnerable and is likely to become extinct era long. The other tree forms, Thespesia Populria (poovarasu), Terminalia Arjuna(Neermaruthu), Calophylluno(Punna), and Madhuco Lang folia (attilippa) are medicinally important.
