GrammaKnits: March 2013
http://grammaknits.blogspot.com/2013_03_01_archive.html
Saturday, March 30, 2013. Hill Country Spinning Retreat 2013. The smell of wool drying in the bathroom! Our third retreat has come and gone, and as always, has left me exhausted but filled with inspriation. Hence, the bathroom full of wet yarn. There are always a million little samples to finish before I forget what they are. Thankfully, I am much more organized this year! It's not very often that we don't travel together. So we caravanned to San Antonio for our annual lunch at Mi Tierra. In Eugene, Oreg...
GrammaKnits: My Etsy Shop has Gone Live!
http://grammaknits.blogspot.com/2014/11/my-etsy-shop-has-gone-live.html
Wednesday, November 12, 2014. My Etsy Shop has Gone Live! After accumulating a lot of weaving, and mustering up even more courage, I've opened my Etsy shop, GrammaKnits. Right now my shop is stocked with a lot of extra items that I've made this year. I need to get busy and make some baskets since I've had some special requests. Plus, Easter will be here before you know it and there's something about a handwoven basket that makes that candy taste extra good! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). As TheresaK...
GrammaKnits: November 2014
http://grammaknits.blogspot.com/2014_11_01_archive.html
Wednesday, November 12, 2014. Ok, so I've got a new loom and I need something for a first project to break it in and get familiar with the loom. I find some linen yarn in my stash that I bought a long time ago when the Lone Star Loom Room. Here it is as I'm starting to weave. And here's a closeup of the fabric after it's off the loom. My biggest issue is that it's really stiff! So I get online and see what I can learn about wet finishing. Everyone talks about needing to use a "mangle". I can spend an ent...
GrammaKnits: July 2014
http://grammaknits.blogspot.com/2014_07_01_archive.html
Monday, July 28, 2014. I had a request on Ravelry for a pattern I wrote back in 2002 that was on my old website. Since that doesn't exist anymore, I thought I'd just add it here so it would be available again. And it's free, from me to you. The pattern is for a Lace Ornament Cover. That I adapted from an old kit pattern. It's really easy and a great use of little bits of glitzy yarn. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). At spinning retreat 2011. View my complete profile. GrammaKnits: September 2013
http://grammaknits.blogspot.com/2013_09_01_archive.html
Wednesday, September 25, 2013. Summer Vacation - Part 1. There is actually a LOT to do in the area where Tina lives with her husband, Steve, and their two dogs Turbo and Glitz. They live in the Skagit River Valley, which is ripe with lush farmlands. We arrived just in time to have missed the Berry Dairy Days in Burlington - darn! But there were still plenty of ripe strawberries to be had at the local roadside stands! Visiting an agricultural area certainly makes it easy to eat healthy on vacation! If you...

Mi Vida en Mexico. A bit about me, my life in Mexico, knitting, family, thoughts. Saturday, June 4, 2011. Beach, Rain and Pink Eye. Mazatlan, Sinaloa, Mexico 2011. We went to Mazatlan over Memorial Day weekend (it's not MD here though) with Marta and Lupe et al and stayed at the Riu Mazatlan - one of our favorite all inclusive resorts. I love this picture 'cause the sun is reflecting on the ocean. Taken from our 11th floor balcony at the Riu Mataztlan. 1st Day after 1st Rain of the Season. The day we wer...

http://seedlessgrape.blogspot.com/2006_03_01_archive.html
A blog about knitting, running, lawyering, cooking, and a bunch of other stuff. Sunday, March 26, 2006. Wow, I hadn't realized what a long time it's been since my last post! Anyway, GPG and I had a great time yesterday visiting the NEW BABY GIRAFFE at the Houston zoo. He was born on March 15, 2006, and he is very, very cute. Here is a picture of the baby giraffe with his mom so you can see just how teeny tiny he is:. Isn't that pretty little? And here he is getting some attention from his mom:. I'm not s...

http://seedlessgrape.blogspot.com/2008/04/quick-spinning-run-down.html
A blog about knitting, running, lawyering, cooking, and a bunch of other stuff. Friday, April 04, 2008. A quick spinning run-down. There was a bit of spinning and a bit of knitting over the past Month o' Work, but I didn't really have time to take photos or blog about it. As a result, my knitting FOs- two Utopia. Hats- have gone on to their recipients without being blogged about, and my WIPs have been ripped and reknit multiple times and no one's the wiser except for me. I'm not sure if my efforts at fra...

http://seedlessgrape.blogspot.com/2008/01/childs-first-socks.html
A blog about knitting, running, lawyering, cooking, and a bunch of other stuff. Tuesday, January 22, 2008. One of my 2008 resolutions is to finish some lingering WiPs. A lot of my WiPs have been collecting dust for a while, so I'm trying to get a move on and get them off the needles. One of these WiPs that is now finally an FO is the Child's First Sock from. Pattern: Child's First Sock from. Needles: US2 Clover DPNs. Yarn: Fleece Artist Merino Sock, "Raspberry". I used to think that the pink of this yarn...
Seedless Grape: August 2005
http://seedlessgrape.blogspot.com/2005_08_01_archive.html
A blog about knitting, running, lawyering, cooking, and a bunch of other stuff. Wednesday, August 31, 2005. First day of school. Sorry for the long break between posts. Between the last post and this one, I schlepped all my stuff up to Austin, dropped $550 at the university bookstore for new books (no used ones available anywhere, unfortunately), attended "orientation" for the journal I'm working on, and had my first day of class. It's been a busy past few days. As for the first day . . . These seem like...

http://seedlessgrape.blogspot.com/2006_01_01_archive.html
A blog about knitting, running, lawyering, cooking, and a bunch of other stuff. Tuesday, January 31, 2006. Breakfast Klub and Sinh Sinh. GPG and I had a weekend of gluttony. At least, that's what it seemed like. We tried a few new places and here's a basic recap:. Sinh Sinh: To celebrate Chinese New Year on Sunday, GPG and I went to Chinatown. We weren't quite sure where we would eat when we started out, but I recalled that the Chairman and Chairwoman had ordered some takeout from Sinh Sinh that was ...
Seedless Grape: Sweet as Pie
http://seedlessgrape.blogspot.com/2008/07/sweet-as-pie.html
A blog about knitting, running, lawyering, cooking, and a bunch of other stuff. Tuesday, July 01, 2008. The (blogging about) spinning kick continues! I was lucky to snag some of Adrian's "regular" fiber during her most recent shop update at Hello Yarn. This is four ounces of Finn wool in the colorway "Sweet as Pie" (photo of fiber here. Again courtesy of Adrian). Again, I can't say enough good things about Adrian's fiber. Her sense of color always amazes me. I love trying new wools and new color ...I am ...

Seedless Grape: February 2006
http://seedlessgrape.blogspot.com/2006_02_01_archive.html
A blog about knitting, running, lawyering, cooking, and a bunch of other stuff. Friday, February 24, 2006. More notes on the Upper Crust Bakery. Clearly, the UCB made a big impression on me last weekend, because now I've been there two more times! However, I now have some reservations about it. I think a full opinion on the place requires a bit more research. Anyway, I'm still a UCB fan . . . but maybe I won't show up three times in one week anymore. Pattern from Sensational Knitted Socks. Book, basicall...

Wednesday, January 25, 2017. 2016 was a crazy busy year! James scheduled more vintage races than ever, so there were lots of trips. First off was Amelia Island, Florida in March. It was pretty low key and we stayed right on the beach, so there was plenty of time for walks. It wasn't a huge race, but there were some interesting cars. We always see lots of "Rileys", but this time there was a "Tucker Special". Way better than driving. June began with James in Norwich at the Lotus Factory. While he was g...
