Do Not Feed the Editor: November 2010
http://grammarmonkey.blogspot.com/2010_11_01_archive.html
Thursday, November 25, 2010. Thanksgiving can also have tricks and treats. Happy Thanksgiving, American compatriots! If you're looking for something to do with that extra bag of cranberries you accidentally bought, I recommend sugaring them. For a pretty table setting/delicious cranberry candy 2-hit combo. My contribution to the dessert table this year will hypothetically be this Pear Butterscotch Pie from Epicurious. Than the thing in Gourmet. It's thematically warm and stressful? By Adam and me! Your d...
Do Not Feed the Editor: gluten-free christmas cookies - almond, orange, clove
http://grammarmonkey.blogspot.com/2012/12/gluten-free-christmas-cookies-almond.html
Wednesday, December 19, 2012. Gluten-free christmas cookies - almond, orange, clove. For me, Christmas cheer means cookies, and I'm not about to leave my gluten-free friends out in the cold. With bright orange, warm clove, and sweet almond, these got the ultimate thumbs-up - total (joyful) annihilation - on tree-trimming day. 1/2 cup almond flour (store-bought or home-ground - grind first, then measure). 1/2 cup rice flour. 1/3 cup coconut flour. 1/2 tsp baking soda. 1 orange worth of zest ( 1 tbsp).

Thursday, December 10, 2009. Consumerism WOW it's december already. It's time, friends and colleagues, for a precociously holiday-themed edition of Consumerism Wow! And t-shirt lover Adam P. Knave. And I have teamed up again to tell you about why we like some things - not just t-shirts, this time! That we think you will like, too. Part 1 of this veritable thing-liking extravaganza can be found here, on Adam's blog. Perhaps you should read about them now? No there isn't and I'm rather ups. HEY! Exactly...
Do Not Feed the Editor: May 2011
http://grammarmonkey.blogspot.com/2011_05_01_archive.html
Tuesday, May 17, 2011. So much editing it makes my face hurt. I got that job that I mentioned interviewing for in my last post. It is with HowStuffWorks. And it entails editing all the things. Which is brilliant, really - I'd forgotten how much I missed editing full-time, and how fun a form of overwhelmed it is to face deadlines that overlap like verses sung in rounds while trying to learn several hundred nitpicky style rules. Of course, I also started working on Blood Hunt. Posted by Lauren V. The gramm...
Do Not Feed the Editor: April 2011
http://grammarmonkey.blogspot.com/2011_04_01_archive.html
Saturday, April 9, 2011. Full of meat pies and radical life changes. I have had a few exciting weeks. I got a shiny new iPhone, vacationed out of the country (for the first time ever) in England, got laid off, had my home broken into, and had a rockin' job interview. Those last two things happened in the past 24 hours. I kinda want whiskey right now.*. While I work towards that: Here, have some pictures of some things I saw on my UK vacation:. And a li'l bit of Reading, Berkshire. Like y'do in England.

Confessions of a grey-headed reporter. About Live Apt Fire. Contact live apt fire. Friday sucks you in, a temporal destination, a goalpost, an illusory finish line of the workweek. I hate Fridays. Monday, November 4, 2013. A little "fatal" goes a long way. In case you were curious. According to NPR reporter Greg Allen, dengue fever. Is “very fatal.” My first reaction to this September report was not to research the disease, but to wonder what it means to be “very fatal.”. 8220;Fatal” means “to cause death.” The last time I checked, humans (unlike cats) have only one life, so we can only die once. Other than dying more than once, what could “very fatal” mean? Writers have a responsibility to their ...
