Friday, December 25, 2009. Sticky Buns. (Pecans, brown sugar and karo syrup.) Yum. Note to self: Don't use a spring form release pan to bake them in. The sticky stuff leaked out and burned on the bottom of my oven and filled the kitchen with smoke. Thank goodness for a self cleaning oven.). Cinnamon rolls for the purists in the family. They were married at Thanksgiving time (Mary was almost 19 and Larry was 25). Soon Roland was welcomed into their family. Larry was then stationed in Ft. Knox, KY (WWII days). Grandpa Larry was the next child born after this photo. Taken about 1915. Maricopa Stake, Arizona. En route from the Missouri River to the Pacific Coast. Later, missionaries labored among them with considerable success and many of them were baptized. Among these missionaries was George Mason. Tiffany, a Utah.

Monday, March 14, 2011. Granny Goose (what the kids call my mother) always made Goulash. When I was a kid we ate it a lot and I love it! Its easy and filling and very inexpensive to make. 2 lbs ground beef (browned). 2 yellow onions chopped (I like sweet onions). 2 15 oz cans of tomato sauce. 2 15 oz. cans diced tomatoes (stewed tomatoes will do in a pinch). 3 cloves fresh garlic (minced). 2 TBSP Italian seasoning. 1 TBSP seasoning salt. 2 cups elbow macaroni. I like it best without. 2 cups corn meal.
