Reviving a Grampian 23 Sailboat

Reviving a Grampian 23 Sailboat. Monday, November 12, 2007. In an effort to keep track of what this project is costing, I will keep a running tally of the costs in this post as I proceed:. Transport (Paid a buddy with a truck) $200. Hoists and Strap rental for transport $ 69. Total to Date $769. Remaining from my original $1500 budget $731. I will not be adding the amount of money spent on beer during this project as it will definitely skew the budget significantly. Projects that I am planning. There are...

Reviving a Grampian 23 Sailboat: Projects that I am planning

http://grampian23.blogspot.com/2007/11/projects-that-i-am-planning.html

Reviving a Grampian 23 Sailboat. Monday, November 12, 2007. Projects that I am planning. Well, too cold to do any more work on the boat this fall, but I have a number of things I will get done over the winter and will be posting pictures as I go. If anyone has any ideas or input, please go to the bottom of the page and post a comment. This is the first rebuild I have tackled on my own, so I am open to all suggestions. There are a few things that I have to do next spring before I put the boat in the water.

Reviving a Grampian 23 Sailboat: First Order Of Business - Getting it out of the trees

http://grampian23.blogspot.com/2007/11/first-order-of-business-getting-it-out.html

Reviving a Grampian 23 Sailboat. Friday, November 2, 2007. First Order Of Business - Getting it out of the trees. My first problem was getting 3500 lbs of fiberglass out of the woods! Sounds simple now, but let me tell you it was nerve racking having that much weight swinging from one chain on each side. I would really not advise anyone to try and do this, as in retrospect it was probably fairly dangerous. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). It wasnt supposed to be a full Rebuild! Reviving a Grampian 23 Sailboat: The deck - More than just a cleaning required

http://grampian23.blogspot.com/2007/11/deck-more-than-just-cleaning-required.html

Reviving a Grampian 23 Sailboat. Friday, November 2, 2007. The deck - More than just a cleaning required. Looks like a pretty dirty sailboat! Hmm, before I paint it, I have to sand the whole thing down a bit. So, what I had hoped would be a straightforward 2 hour cleaning job has turned into a 20 hour sanding project. Sanding is done, but this is now going to have to wait for the spring, as it is too cold to use filler, primer, or paint. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Projects that I am planning.

Reviving a Grampian 23 Sailboat: It wasn't supposed to be a full Rebuild!

http://grampian23.blogspot.com/2007/11/it-wasnt-supposed-to-be-full-rebuild.html

Reviving a Grampian 23 Sailboat. Friday, November 2, 2007. It wasn't supposed to be a full Rebuild! I had not intended to document this process on a blog, so some of the initial pictures are a bit blurry since I used the camera on my phone. During the refit process, I will be using a camera, so quality should be enhanced. I hope you enjoy your project and that you continue to blog your progress. I look forward to your insights. As is, where is. Inspiration, Perspiration and Determination. This site outlines the how's and how-not-to's of one old boat's repair. I'm more than happy to answer any questions. Now that I have the old boat back in the water, I'll be continuing to plug away at various other aspects. I have done some interior changes and additions. Just launched - April 2007.

Wednesday, December 14, 2016. Cool your cabin for $11.00. Ok, I obviously have other concerns and haven't posted much lately (my boat is still stranded far on the hard). But I'm going to throw something up which you may find of interest. 40 each, (X) 2=$80. It helped a little bit. I noticed that on a hot day while at anchor my vberth is always nice and. It was an improvement. Or was it Hong Kong? I'm not certain, but it was only $11 with free shipping, so I figure what have I got to lose? I've speculated...
