Road to Wembley (again!!)

Road to Wembley (again! Saturday, 17 May 2008. When the Fleet go Sailing in! None of the difficulties of last year in getting a ticket for this one - even though Ebbsfleet managed to sell 22,000. Road to Wembley (again!!): September 2007

http://www.granthamtowembley.blogspot.com/2007_09_01_archive.html

Road to Wembley (again! Saturday, 8 September 2007. Here we go again. Some of you will know that last season I had my 15 minutes of fame when I followed the FA Cup Competition all the wat from the extra preliminary round through to the Final at Wembley. That journey refreshed my appetite for the game, especially at non-league level so I've decided to do it all again, this time with the FA Trophy. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Here we go again. Road to Wembley (again!!): Aldershot Town 1 Ebbsfleet United 1

http://www.granthamtowembley.blogspot.com/2008/03/aldershot-town-1-ebbsfleet-united-1.html

Road to Wembley (again! Sunday, 16 March 2008. Aldershot Town 1 Ebbsfleet United 1. A backs to the wall performance gave Ebbsfleet a 4-2 aggregate win and the opportunity of a trip to Wembley. Aldershot dominated this match but nervous finishing in the first half and lack of creativity in the second were to cost them dear. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Road to Wembley (again!!): Ebbsleet United 3 Aldershot Town 1

http://www.granthamtowembley.blogspot.com/2008/03/ebbsleet-united-3-aldershot-town-1.html

Road to Wembley (again! Thursday, 13 March 2008. Ebbsleet United 3 Aldershot Town 1. So, a first for me - two games in one day. Let's talk about Ebbsfleet though. They had been awarded the team of the round for their defeat of Burton, but Aldershot would be a different proposition, surely? The second half was a more even affair with a goal each meaning that 'The Fleet' take a two goal advantage to Hampshire. Who will prevail? Hi, you have a typo, it should be:. Might bump into you at Wembley!

Road to Wembley (again!!): November 2007

http://www.granthamtowembley.blogspot.com/2007_11_01_archive.html

Road to Wembley (again! Wednesday, 21 November 2007. The journey goes 'international'. I will be off to Wales for the 3rd qualifying round as Sheffield face a trip to Colwyn Bay, a fellow Unibond 1 South club. In fact, they were meant to play there in the league on that day so no change in plan is needed. It's quite a trek for me but the place looks quite nice and a good day by the seaside is anticipated, weather permitting. Sunday, 4 November 2007. Sheffield 3 Kendal 2. Or should I say Kendall or Kendle!

FA Cup season 2007-08 A Road to Wembley. Sunday, 18 May 2008. Game 16: Cardiff City 0, Portsmouth 1. Saturday May 17th 2008. Weather: Damp and cool. Distance travelled: 58 miles. And yesterday provided one last fantastic keepsake. If you have a moment, please let me tell you about my day. Who'd have thought that? For the Premiership boys from Portsmouth, who were no doubt equally surprised to be there, the afternoon was to develop into something very, very special indeed. The relief was short lived. ...

http://roadtowembley.blogspot.com/2008_05_01_archive.html

FA Cup season 2007-08 A Road to Wembley. Friday, 23 May 2008. Can you see that question mark in the title of this, my first ever blog? In my very first post I explained that the question mark was there for a reason, a very significant reason. It symbolised the fact that there was every chance that I would not complete this journey from Alwyns Lane, Chertsey to Wembley, North London. These two locations are physically separated by a mere 58 miles but I travelled 2354 miles to get there. This is the beauty...

FA Cup season 2007-08 A Road to Wembley. Wednesday, 30 April 2008. A mix of fortunes. Whilst Cardiff City and Portsmouth play out their league campaigns, with one eye on their sojourn to Wembley in two and a half weeks, many teams across the country have reached their season end. Some of the leagues lower down the pyramid played out the final games at the weekend; for other clubs with league games to complete the season is effectively over anyway. My visit to Chertsey Town. FA Cup season 2007-08 A Road to Wembley. Friday, 2 January 2009. Objects kept or collected because of their associations with memorable people or events. Not satisfied with the normal memorabilia of matchday programmes from every tie on my journey to Wembley, I spent some of my son's inheritance on Cardiff City and Portsmouth FA Cup Final 2008 shirts, and framed them alongside the ticket stub and programme. Here is a photo of the end result:. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Click here for most recent post.
