Swimming through the thickness of lifes waters. 04:44 pm May 22nd, 2014. A Question of Citizenship. Apart from the occasional donation or social media post Idid little to get involved, even though I'm a get involved kind of guy. Why not? Well, if I'm honest, mostly I felt like as a foreigner it wasn't my place.Instead I found myself ever looking over my shoulder at South Africa, as if it was there I should help. It left me impotent because this has become home. SJF's approach is to gather a group of folk...

365 Days of September. Class is in session. Skip to primary content. For the Love of Pandora. November 11, 2016. We’d go through this every night, call the police. The police come, he lowers his music, they leave, he turns it up again. No one should have to live like that, right? Or like hearing “It’s our world now, Nigger,” and be dismissed and told I’m too sensitive. Yeah no one should have to live like that, right? It was never about Hillary losing the election. No They didn’t. But they did post p...

Haxan – Blood, Dust, Wind. Sample Story – “Portraits of Madame Skalla”. Professional science fiction and dark fantasy writer. While attending Chicon 7 I had the opportunity to attend a panel discussing violence in fantasy and how much was too much. Or if there was such a thing as too much. The usual things you expect to be said on such a topic were said. But I was surprised, genuinely surprised, no one seemed to really. Of course I do. But I also recognize we don’t live in a sane world because ...Like I ...

365 Days of September. Class is in session. Skip to primary content. Skip to secondary content. Monthly Archives: October 2015. October 21, 2015. So here we are. After hundreds of Facebook memes indicting that today was the day Marty McFly arrived in the future (it wasn’t), at long last have we come to this day: Wednesday, October 21st, 2015. So it is on this very day where I feel it necessary to defend certain claims on what. Back to the Future. Got wrong, and why they do not exist. 2 Nike’s Power Laces.

365 Days of September. Class is in session. Skip to primary content. Skip to secondary content. Newer posts →. June 2, 2015. My gluts are killing me. It’s Monday morning. While everyone else in the world is working and grumbling about going to work, I sit in front of a computer, goldfish crackers on the right of me and half a bag of beef jerky to my left, still sore from walking twenty miles last Saturday. Every year I made some discovery about myself. This year was different. That’s what you do when you...

Swimming through the thickness of lifes waters. 02:59 pm December 24th, 2013. Papa Stop the War. Hearken the voice of reason. Racial venom is like social dynamite. I've been doing some writing about the last days of apartheid, so far mostly for myself but hopefully some will be sharable. In the process I've been rewatching some movies on the subject and listening to music from the time. I was rewatching, Amandla! A Revolution in Four Part Harmony. And it took me right back to those times. Now is the time.
