A wild olive shoot. Being here, not only away. April 13, 2013. Greetings from sunny Santorini! My sweet friend Marialeen and I jetted over to the island for the weekend to celebrate my 21st birthday, and it’s turning out to be a very happy birthday, indeed. I was thinking about this blog today as I laid on Kamari Beach (with black sand! So consider this my manifesto: I will be. And not just away. That being said: let me tell you about this weekend:. I’m gonna give you some space to laugh. Todayyou guys&#...

a little east of reality: April 2005
http://eastofreality.blogspot.com/2005_04_01_archive.html
A little east of reality. Saturday, April 30, 2005. Last night. There was a lot that was good about it. Though I often felt like the script let them down, the characters were great:. Fairly complex for this kind of movie. I liked the sense of development in the character and his compassion. Some of his lines (eg, every time he talked about his feelings about his music) were shocking though - cliched crap that came out of his mouth and then clanged on the floor like a dropped pot. I wanted to kick the TV.

A wild olive shoot. Things Paros Taught Me. May 9, 2013. In an email exchange with my mother (who deserves an award for being so wonderful and beautiful and coming all the way to Greece to see me in TWO WEEKS! 8221; – did I mention she deserves an award? So here it is – at least the beginnings – of a list that I’ve learned from being in Europe:. 1 Greek people do what they want when they want and they always have something else to talk about. I love that about them. 3 What it means to be. 9 Who Apollo was.

Tamy Emma Pepin: March 2010
http://tamyemmapepin.blogspot.com/2010_03_01_archive.html
Tuesday, March 30, 2010. Why you should keep a journal. If you don't know where you are going, you'll end up some place else" - Yogi Berra. This was written almost exactly 3 years ago. I remember the day and the place very clearly. It was at the house of my friend Chantal in Brossard. It was a surprinsingly beautiful spring day and we sat together with our journals on the warm ciment of the backyard patio. We talked, and we wrote, letting go of all fear, refusing to think that a dream can be too big.

A wild olive shoot. Being here, not only away. Things Paros Taught Me →. April 25, 2013. I made a list of funny things I miss about home the other day. It’s funny because the majority of these places/things are so small and unimportant in my life, but it’s what I miss (not the most, but you get the point). Here it is:. 2 The Books-A-Million in Bridgewater Falls and Chik-Fil-A milkshakes (so many hyphens, so much goodness). Bible study, where ya at? 3 My back yard, especially at sunset. Woof. Things Paros...
