By work, I mean any organized, productive activity, especially when around other people. So paid work, volunteering, or even an art or craft. Why is this so important? Finally, DON’T GIVE UP! When you’re feeling your worst, go back to my first step. BELIEVE that you can recover and you will. DON’T EVER, EVER GIVE UP!

Grassroots Empowerment Project, Inc. became Wisconsin's first freestanding, non-profit, mental health consumer/survivor controlled organization in 2000. Grassroots Empowerment Project, Inc. is a statewide member agency that holds it’s Annual Meeting where members elect the Board of Directors during the fall conference of each year. Board of Directors is currently 100% mental health consumer/survivor controlled. Board meetings are held in Madison on a bi-monthly basis.
