Two Cats and a Horse: Life, Recently
http://twocatsandafish.blogspot.com/2008/05/life-recently.html
Two Cats and a Horse. Life with Shag, Gizmo, and Panache. Saddle came in last week and it fits both of us nicely. Very slick though since it's new leather with the factory wax still on top. So I've been cleaning it after each ride and oiling the underside of the leather to help it soften up. Mom visited last week for Mother's Day and the LPGA. That's the quick news for now. I like snakes. :). Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Two Cats and a Horse. View my complete profile.

A Traveler's Tales: September 2005
http://pennaeaquilae.blogspot.com/2005_09_01_archive.html
Being the musings of a alien - temporal and spiritual. Monday, September 26, 2005. Selections from Book I. I’m reading Augustine for a couple classes this semester both. Right now I’m in the beginning of. Tu excitas, ut laudare te delectet, quia fecisti nos ad te et inquietum est cor nostrum, donec requiescat in te. You stir man to take pleasure in praising you, because you have made us for yourself, and our heart is restless until it rests in you. Quid dicit aliquis, cum de te dicit? How many of our day...

A Traveler's Tales: My People, Part 2
http://pennaeaquilae.blogspot.com/2007/05/my-people-part-2.html
Being the musings of a alien - temporal and spiritual. Wednesday, May 02, 2007. My People, Part 2. Thanks, y’all, for the replies. I figure I ought to give an update:. Though not on the weekend I wanted to, I did get to visit the emerging church and a fascinating visit it was. The day was one of the first pretty ones we’d had and, as I drove through some lovely countryside, I found myself much more interested in spending my day out on one of the farms than cooped up inside. I’ll have to re-visit sometime.

Pygmy Puffs and Heffalumps: 20th Anniversary Adventure: San Francisco
http://pygmypuffsandheffalumps.blogspot.com/2014/05/20th-anniversary-adventure-san-francisco.html
Pygmy Puffs and Heffalumps. A librarian's random musings. Thursday, May 29, 2014. 20th Anniversary Adventure: San Francisco. I admit it. I was not all that keen to spend the day in San Francisco, killing time while waiting for our midnight flight to depart. But the philosopher was willing to drive, and I was willing to navigate, so off we went! Driving to the city from Napa entailed a trip across the Golden Gate Bridge. It was a bit foggy and hazy, but not too bad for seeing the sights. Old St. Mary's.

Pygmy Puffs and Heffalumps: August 2013
http://pygmypuffsandheffalumps.blogspot.com/2013_08_01_archive.html
Pygmy Puffs and Heffalumps. A librarian's random musings. Monday, August 26, 2013. How To Make It Rain Every Weekend. Can you tell it needs a little TLC? So this weekend, finally, we had a forecast of decent weather. Greg got out and power washed the deck on Friday, killing all the mold and mildew and other crap. Then we replaced the handrails, stair treads and a few of the deck boards that were not salvagable. Our grand plan was to paint it on Saturday! Or so we thought. By golly, it was dry! Pardon me ...

Pygmy Puffs and Heffalumps: April 2014
http://pygmypuffsandheffalumps.blogspot.com/2014_04_01_archive.html
Pygmy Puffs and Heffalumps. A librarian's random musings. Tuesday, April 15, 2014. Hope on A Gray Tuesday. It's Holy Week. It's Tax Day. It's cold and raining when it should be spring. But there's hope, indeed. Warmer weather is coming this weekend, and 10 days from now is the last official frost date for my town. Tomatoes will be in the ground soon, yes indeed. But the best hope? The best good news on this gray day? The final encounter of the battle has begun. Hell is breaking loose. And Jesus knew it&#...

Pygmy Puffs and Heffalumps: A Lovely Trip to Charleston
http://pygmypuffsandheffalumps.blogspot.com/2014/11/a-lovely-trip-to-charleston.html
Pygmy Puffs and Heffalumps. A librarian's random musings. Thursday, November 13, 2014. A Lovely Trip to Charleston. First, how can it be November? How is that even possible? Have I really been so busy in the last five months that I haven't made a single post? Done one silly thing that I wanted to share? Had one ornery rant that I wanted to convey? But I did go to Charleston last week for a conference. So here are some photos, mostly without commentary. A better view of the gazebo at Battery Park. As Miln...

Pygmy Puffs and Heffalumps: March 2014
http://pygmypuffsandheffalumps.blogspot.com/2014_03_01_archive.html
Pygmy Puffs and Heffalumps. A librarian's random musings. Thursday, March 20, 2014. A Rant. against lovely flowering trees. I have to admit something. It's not a popular opinion I hold, especially here in Georgia, where subdivisions proliferate. Some people might accuse me of "hating nature", or even being a "flowering tree denier". But here it is. I loathe Bradford pear trees. You know the ones I'm talking about, right? So why do I hate a tree that is the harbinger of warmer weather? 2: THEY ARE A MESS.
