Gratuitous Glimpses

Thursday, September 24, 2009. They say a picture is worth a thousand words, and I agree. Kierstin was so proud to show her grandpa that she knew exactly how old she was and how much fun the party was going to be. The night before her 1st birthday, (which just so happened to fall on a Saturday) Grandpa Thompson wanted to get some use out of his new high-fangled camera, so we took her to an old flour mill that still has the operating water wheel, to do just that. We decided we would open presents first the...

Gratuitous Glimpses: A LOT OF CHANGES

http://www.gratuitousglimpses.blogspot.com/2009/08/lot-of-changes.html

Thursday, August 13, 2009. A LOT OF CHANGES. It was Kierstin's 1st birthday party, and my nephew Josh told me that he quit looking at my blog page, because nothing has changed in the past 6 months. I laughed and thought to myself - "it hasn't been that long! In February, we went to Florida to see David's grandparents and for some business. It was so. We played shuffleboard and went to a manatee park and Kierstin took her first dip. Lambert, her little lamb. Then came Kierstin's 1st Easter. It was a r...

http://thebankscottage.blogspot.com/2011/04/im-so-sorry.html

Building Our House Upon the Rock ".but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord." Joshua 24:15. Monday, April 11, 2011. I'm so sorry. I don't know what's wrong with my pictures. I will keep trying and hopefully will have some new stuff soon. So much life and so little knowledge of technology! Personally, I enjoy seeing the blue and white question mark. I think it makes a lovely picture. But, you create lovely and funny pics with your words - so where are the latest words! May 3, 2011 at 4:23 AM.

I don't know what happened to the picture in the last post. Hopefully it took this time. Family subtraction and addition updates coming up next! Can You See It Now?

Building Our House Upon the Rock ".but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord." Joshua 24:15. Tuesday, August 12, 2014. School starts next week. For many parents, thats music to their ears. Me? I can't be blamed for enjoying the fruit, right? So quite spontaneously, we decided to take a long weekend trip to Galveston - our closest beach. It was wonderful. Forks were flying in each others' plates. Love that fresh fish. One thing kind of funny. While eating at a marina one evening, a ki...He wrappe...

Building Our House Upon the Rock ".but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord." Joshua 24:15. Tuesday, July 29, 2014. Do you remember the scene in the movie 'Apollo 13' when the manned capsule is re-entering the atmosphere and they temporarily lose communication with the ground? Here's to three years and counting. Well, I for one am so thankful that you are blogging again. Especially now that the miles separate our precious time together! August 10, 2014 at 7:30 AM. Friend and Family Blogs.

Building Our House Upon the Rock ".but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord." Joshua 24:15. Wednesday, October 15, 2014. Gisela True and Prozac Too. January 12, 2013. Unbeknownst to me, a litter of puppies is born on the other side of Arkansas. About a month later I'm minding my own business in Target buying toilet paper, etc. when I get a call from Greg that we need a new puppy and there's a good one available in a few weeks? He says, "Because I love her". Point made. Gisela True and Prozac Too.

Building Our House Upon the Rock ".but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord." Joshua 24:15. Tuesday, November 30, 2010. My Table of Blessings. This year I asked each person coming to our home to tell me something they were thankful for and give me a scripture that meant something to them. That special information became the centerpieces for our tables. I had so much fun scripting it and putting it all together! You would have had some treasures to share as well. Wish you were here. Building Our House Upon the Rock ".but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord." Joshua 24:15. Wednesday, January 14, 2015. The Best of Folks. It was our Georgia turn for Thanksgiving this year. We decided to break up the drive and stay in Memphis a night both there and back. If you track it with me, that means driving through Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas, Tennessee and North Carolina to get where we were going. Isn't that wonderful? Wish I had a picture of THAT - it was awesome! The Best of Folks.

Building Our House Upon the Rock ".but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord." Joshua 24:15. Monday, December 27, 2010. First of all, I couldn't believe it but we got snow again this year! Granted, it was just a dusting but SNOW WAS FALLING as we dug into our stockings! As you can see,. One is enjoying them. Thank you Grammy for the looooooong-coveted Lego set! After being drug to the toy aisle 37 different times over this, there is much relief in our home tonight. Day 8, so blessed! Days 6 and 7.

Building Our House Upon the Rock ".but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord." Joshua 24:15. Monday, January 10, 2011. We were in Tulsa over the weekend for a wedding. Greg and I used to live in Tulsa (me for 8 years). We weren't even married a year before Greg's job moved us to Memphis. It was hard to leave, but some good friends thoughtfully gave us a snow globe with the city of Tulsa in it. It plays the song, 'Oklahoma! So, this time we met him. The Driller! I think he gets it now.

A Plethora of Pages. Wednesday, November 27, 2013. I figured it's probably time to revive the blog, since I've been away for a while. Life gets busy you know. I ran several 5Ks. Warrior Dash AZ 2012. And finally moved out of Utah. :). And as the holidays are closing in, I've been getting a bit more crafty, and I thought I would share. I've found a new hobby! One I can do without the need of a babysitter! Though I do still work on furniture (that's for another post). For my friend Kim. For my friend Cliff.

Gratuitous Grub | Life in the Food Lane

Life in the Food Lane. November 21, 2014. Funerals are all about the food. I have always wondered about wakes and funerals, death in general, and how so many people seem to eat and drink so much during these affairs. At least they do in tv and film. Who can forget the great scene from the first season of True Blood with Anna Paquin’s house being filled with the whole town and their dubiously prepared “comfort food? And then she flipped out because someone was eating GRAN’S PIE! 8221; I was off to Tokyo&#...
