I am not good at naming things – and other observations by: Ryan Noel: The Big One
http://ryan-noel.blogspot.com/2009/07/big-one.html
On this day one year ago my son was born. Today I find myself nearly as speechless about the moment as I was then, which is why I think I'll just re-post the events as I documented them last year. I do think it's worth mentioning that the indescribable, uncontainable love I felt for Simeon the moment he was born has grown 365 fold. I sit straight up and look around the room for an intruder. "I think my water broke! The car ride – 6:00 am. Do not ask me questions. I'm still waiting for the third rule.

GT Rank & Family: October 2012
http://gtrankandfamily.blogspot.com/2012_10_01_archive.html
Monday, October 1, 2012. Here I am . in love with Lewis. I have been considering the loss of my dad more again recently. I have considered how at peace. I feel, particularly as others are more frequently presenting the "check-in" questions that seem to ask, "how are you doing with your loss." I can't believe we're now three and a half years out. I read C.S. Lewis' A Grief Observed. And it is for those who question the grand mystery, even the intent and purpose behind the universe. Please go and do. I mig...

GT Rank & Family: November 2011
http://gtrankandfamily.blogspot.com/2011_11_01_archive.html
Wednesday, November 30, 2011. Join this site and get 5 miles for every $1 spent. Buy tomorrow and get double points! For a moment I was swayed, and I thought, yes, I need points! Yes, I need miles, and sweaters! And matching mother-daughter aprons (oh wait I don't have a daughter)! Wait - who was offering points, or miles, or, or . And how many points do I already have - banked up for that special occasion that still hasn't happened? And then I named it: Consumerism. Wants in the first place. And now, so...

GT Rank & Family: May 2011

Tuesday, May 31, 2011. Getting used to life with two . Life has been interesting lately in our Rank household. Lots of screams . from two boys fighting for attention. Not fighting against. Each other, thankfully - no, it seems that they're fighting together as if by requesting more, more might become available. Kind of like how a woman's body knows to produce more milk when more is requested. Here is G getting his hair cut at Li'l Snippers down the street. Now I know the secret to keeping him calm an...

GT Rank & Family: March 2011

Thursday, March 24, 2011. It is quite possible that - for me - the "icing" on the proverbial parenting "cake" is . Lazslow, who stands just close enough to me that his tail taps on my thigh incessantly - tapping out all the messages he sends to me each day:. Did you notice me? I think I can talk- just listen. Food now. I can get there faster than you can, wherever you're going - let's race! Just watch me go! Pet my butt. SQUIRREL! Oh wait, out again! Sunday, March 20, 2011. Friday, March 11, 2011. The day after Christmas, with distension of the belly. Due to broccoli casserole over-stuffing, my wife, Sarah and I decided to escape the holiday madness (and the chocolate covered pretzels on the kitchen counter) for the The Walmarts. You, the reader, are probably saying, "The Walmarts! The day after Christmas? That's the very definition of holiday madness! And you're right. It's just a different kind. We weren't headed to the The Walmarts just to people-watch. Hit the snack bar.". Hello, I'm Ryan Noel.

http://ryan-noel.blogspot.com/2009/08/holding-on-letting-go.html
Holding on Letting go. This entry was supposed to be different. Producing web log entries has become more labored in recent months, and I had resisted all urges to blog about writer's blogkage. It would only sound like whining, I thought. Besides, I had my. Annual trip to Lewis Lake. With my best friends and that would surely provide the impetus for new observations and. My time in Kentucky did not disappoint; I spent much of the car ride home mapping my next entry. Our family dog, died. In the street an...

Bath time is Daddy/Simeon time. Bath Time (BT) is preceded by Naked Baby Time (NBT) and is kicked off with a little BT dance. I don't have any footage of the dance, but I do have a little glimpse of Bath Time itself. Hope you enjoy. Hello, I'm Ryan Noel. His Father's Listening Skills. I was showering last night, my back to the shower head when I heard behind me, plah. In the time it took me to think, "hey, that's a women's shoe in the bathtub with me" — plah. Hello, I'm Ryan Noel.
