I thought that I would be spending more time at home, but I have been on TDY so much between my NG Unit and my full time job that I really haven't been home much since July of this year. One year, when I was real young I remember getting a bow and suction cup arrow with a Sioux style feather headdress for my birthday. I also remember one of the older neighbor kids getting stuck in the eye with one of the suction cups. It's funny the things we remember. My interest in native cultures continues still today.

On my Mom's side, my Grandfather Watson Talcott, served in the Navy as a Radio Operator during WWII. My Great Uncle, Neil Talcott, served in the Army as an Infantryman during WWII in the European Theater. I spent the last week training off the San Juaquin river in the mountains. It's good to be home. Sometimes though. it seems like i've been gone forever and home seems so foriegn to me. Like tonight. In September of 2005 my Dad and I made a trip to hike Mt. Whitney near Lone Pine, CA. We took three days. The first day we drove about 7 hours from Loomis. To the Whitney portal.
