A crafty blog from the Pacifc Northwest. I can’t seem to stop making these! In which I consider getting a pet sheep. Amanda’s Apron →. 2 Responses to “I’m addicted”. October 19, 2010 at 2:14 pm. You have to teach me how to make those when you are in Portland next time! October 19, 2010 at 2:17 pm. They’re beyond easy. You can buy the button forms at a JoAnn’s and lots of them come with a tool to pop them together. It really is addictive! Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Enter your comment here. See Me in Print.

A crafty blog from the Pacifc Northwest. In which I consider getting a pet sheep. Last weekend I drove down to visit my family and to go to the Oregon Flock and Fiber festival. Imagine how many pairs of socks I could get from a sheep? Besides, how could you resist a funny little face like this? I shall call him squishy and he shall be mine and he shall be my squishy. I’m off to re-negotiate my apartment’s pet policy right now! Does this ever happen to you? 8220;but it’s a really great opportunitya ...
Color | Gray Skies Blue
https://grayskiesblue.wordpress.com/2010/11/02/color
A crafty blog from the Pacifc Northwest. Complimentary colors: nature gets it right. As you can see it was gorgeous for at least part of the weekend. It was nice to enjoy the fall colors a bit before the storms moved in. Even now, as its raining sideways, the orange and yellow leaves swirling in the gutters haven’t quite turned to mush and still make for a nice contrast against the gloom and gray. Finally, after spending over an hour in my local quilt shop I came away with this selection:. I often wonder...

A crafty blog from the Pacifc Northwest. Shhhhh. Don’t tell. I’m supposed to be sewing, but all this deadline-sewing is wearing me out. So I caved. It’s just a tiny little project, so it practically doesn’t count. Right? Come on. Ducks? You wish your head was small enough to wear this hat. I know I do. A Fresh Start →. 3 Responses to “Quack Quack! November 4, 2010 at 10:36 am. Is the edge a seed stitch or k1p1? I might have to borrow the idea for my BFF. November 4, 2010 at 10:40 am. Amanda’s Apron | Gray Skies Blue
https://grayskiesblue.wordpress.com/2010/10/19/amandas-apron
A crafty blog from the Pacifc Northwest. I’ve been working on a new apron pattern a lot over the last few weeks but since it’s a long way off from me being able to share it, I thought I’d share another apron I made earlier this spring. Plus there’s a nice little story to go with this pattern. A few yards of an Amy Butler print and an old holey pair of corduroy pants. And could I make her an apron? Sewing on tight deadlines is not my favorite thing to do by a long shot. What was old can become new again!

Sewing Machine Thank You Cards | Oodlelolly
https://oodlelolly.wordpress.com/2012/06/06/sewing-machine-thank-you-cards
Sewing Machine Thank You Cards. This winter my sister asked me to print her some cards from an old fashioned sewing machine stamp I’d made a few years past. Sadly, that stamp had a hard life and eventually ended up tearing clean in two (which is why I only use that pink Speedball “Speedy Carve” rubber now – that stuff is durable! Anyway, RIP old sewing machine stamp… we had some good times. I’m thinking about using this stamp to make some hand-printed fabric, though it might be a little intense! Get ever...

Newer posts ». Earlier this summer, I posted this picture:. Well, I’ve been busy cutting and sewing…. And I finally finished the top of my quilt! This quilt pattern was created by my sister and is available in the book she co-wrote with Cassie Barden,. Everyday Handmade: 22 Projects for the Modern Sewist. As you can see, I was inspired by the pattern title to create the quilt in a totally 80s color palette! I carry a log. Do you think that is funny? Becca, a fan of all things Lynchian, insisted we watch.
Hand-printed fabric! | Oodlelolly
https://oodlelolly.wordpress.com/2012/06/07/hand-printed-fabric
Sewing Machine Thank You Cards. Okay, so I’ve gotten most of my old projects online, as promised! So out with the old, in with the new! My new obsession is printing my own fabric, and I’m going to share some pictures of my first few efforts. But I wanted a result that was balanced feeling and easy on the eye. I formulated a lot of ideas about how to achieve a regular grid system, but they were all overly complicated. Then it struck me! Tape Lots and lots of masking tape. Stay tuned… 🙂. On June 7, 2012.

My (Shamefully Long) Creative Project To Do List. I’m knitting a sweater! I’m taking the leap. I’m seizing the day. I’m grabbing life by the horns. That’s right, I’m knitting a sweater! I’ve decided to branch out from the safe world of knitting scarves, gloves, and hats, and take on a bigger project. Is this a wise choice? Here is what I have to show for 2 weeks worth of knitting:. 2 Responses to “I’m knitting a sweater! Feed for this Entry. On February 23, 2012. On February 24, 2012. Yayy, another post!

Polymer clay x-acto knife gold acrylic paint pink embroidery floss! I keep finding uses for that box of creepy peach colored polymer clay. I was organizing my art supplies over the weekend and came across it again. While catching up on trashy TV last night, I did a little clay bead assembly line, and made a whole slew of beads! My (Shamefully Long) Creative Project To Do List. My Faux Paint By Number. I’ve been on this embarrassing Paint-by-Number kick for the past month, I guess because I was craving that wonderfully mindless yet meticulous process that is inherent to PBNs. Yes, I access the flow. Through Paint by Numbers, and yes I refer to them on occasion by their abbrev, PBN. Stop judging me! Stop it, or I won’t show you guys the epic PBN I’m working on, of wild horses galloping across the prairies. Feed for this Entry.

I’m knitting a sweater! My Faux Paint By Number. My (Shamefully Long) Creative Project To Do List. So… I haven’t posted in a long time. A very long time. An. It’s not that I haven’t been making stuff, but I’ve been lazy about posting completed projects to my blog. So over the course of the next two weeks, I’m going to do a marathon of posting and try to get all my old projects on the blog. Starting a new project. A quilted map of the USA. 4 pillows for my couch. Weaving a rag rug from old tee shirts.

My Faux Paint By Number. Sewing Machine Thank You Cards. As I promised in my last post, I’m endeavoring to get all of my unposted projects on the blog! This spring, I made a lot of birthday gifts from my sister’s book, Everyday Handmade. And I ended up learning a lot of new skills and perhaps even gained a measure of patience! This was by far the easiest project of the bunch, and I’m tempted to make a whole slew of these bags in all sorts of crazy Ikea fabrics! 2 Responses to “Birthday Bags! You are comm...
Something Shiny (and Other Distractions): I'm old.
http://tinfoilisamazing.blogspot.com/2011/03/i-old.html
Something Shiny (and Other Distractions). Sunday, March 6, 2011. I finally had to Google it to check. I should have known because he has the fanciest ascot and smallest voice. This gave me pause. I get that pbs wants to reel in younger viewers, but should it be done at the expense of production value? I highly doubt that their audience for this special would include anyone that cared whether or not a tween sensation is in the cast. Excuse me, I'm going to go yell at some kids to get off my lawn. Yes, it ...

All The Small Things Knitting
Tuesday, February 21, 2012. I've just started on a path to RNY surgery. Gastric bypass surgery. I have been wanting to do this for years, but for one reason and fourteen others was forced to put it off. Now is the time and I'm very excited and a bit nervous. My surgery wont be until probably late July, due to the insurance waiting period. The week after my first visit with my doctor I had a bazillion calls from all the pre-surgery appointments. Did I mention I didn't like doctors? My mom adds dry no suga...
