Drain soaked dal and chillies.Grind them into a coarse or rough paste adding salt in a mixer. Cut each capsicum into 8 pieces and mix them well with the ground dal. Meanwhile take a broad sauce pan and heat oil. When oil is hot,put jeera and allow them to pop. Now put dal with capsicum spreading evenly in the pan.

Peel the skin of aloo,cut them into cubes and cook them till soft. Take a sauce pan and heat oil in it.In hot oil,put mustard seeds and wait till they splutter. Friday, June 01, 2007. 250 gms of Coriander. 1/4 cup chena dal. 1/4 cup urad dal. 1 sp mustard seeds. 10 dry red chillies. 2 sps tamarind paste. 3 sps sunflower oil. Wash and seperate coriander leaves and keep them aside. In a sauce pan,heat oil and on low flame fry chena dal,urad dal into mild,light brown.Take care not to over fry them as that alters the taste. Now switch off the heat and add dry red chillies,hing to it and saute for few seconds. Take them into a plate and allow it to cool.

Tuesday, June 19, 2007. Cripsy and tasty source of protein. 1 cup moong dal. 1 cup chana dal. 1 cup urad dal. 1 cup unboiled rice. Soak all kinds of dal and rice in water over night. Next day drain the water and grind dal into a smooth batter. Collect the batter in a bowl,add salt and jeera to it and mix evenly. Heat a flat pan and spread batter into a thin circle. Sprinkle oil and fry till golden brown.Take it from pan carefully into a plate. Ready to serve.Enjoy with onion chutney or sambar dip.

Thursday, May 17, 2007. Mustard powder(rai powder)-500 grams. Red chilly powder-750 grams. Salt (fine) -400 grams. Wash raw green tangy mangoes.Wipe them dry with a clean cloth. Cut mangoes into small pieces (preferably with hard seed coat for each piece).Cut on a wooden plank with a big Knife.Wipe them clean once again. Mix all dry ingredients except oil. Add mango pieces to this mixture.Put into a glass bottle or porcelain jar. Now pour oil in to the jar till the mixture sinks. Posted by Andhra chef.
