Laughing for a Living: July 2014
http://laughingforaliving.blogspot.com/2014_07_01_archive.html
Laughing for a Living. Most Thursday and Friday nights for the past decade I could be found hard at work.laughing in an aisle seat. Friday, July 18, 2014. Beer for my horses. The weather was wonderful, cool enough to be comfortable. My only regret is that I had allowed my phone to run out of power so I wasn't able to shoot any photos from our second-row seat. And I'm also regretting that I may never get another chance to see Willie perform. Here's to you, Willie! Thanks for another memorable concert!

Great News Town: Book Club Extras
http://greatnewstown.blogspot.com/2012/07/book-club-extras.html
The summer of 1983. Monday, July 2, 2012. Had a great visit last week with a book club in Jenison. The ladies had read Great News Town. And gave me lots of positive feedback. They agreed a Book Club Edition with a list of characters and discussion questions would be helpful so I plan to work on that right away (in between work on the new serialized edition. Posted by Sue Merrell. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). The sequel to Great News Town is available.

Laughing for a Living. Most Thursday and Friday nights for the past decade I could be found hard at work.laughing in an aisle seat. Thursday, December 25, 2014. A gift from the past. For this very special Christmas edition of Throwback Thursday, I want to share the story of a gift my son Ryan received that was made more than a century ago. While the Civil War was tearing Missouri apart, America Ashley Hall was having babies. And making quilts. After Ken's parents died and the house was sold around 2000, ...

Laughing for a Living. Most Thursday and Friday nights for the past decade I could be found hard at work.laughing in an aisle seat. Wednesday, June 24, 2015. As I am working on my narrative genealogy I love finding something solid, an actual building that one of my ancestors built. Something that survived the centuries. I found just such a building in South Carolina. But in 1780 the British arrived to reclaim the town.It became a staging area for the British troops and a fortress. In May, 1781, a...In th...

Laughing for a Living. Most Thursday and Friday nights for the past decade I could be found hard at work.laughing in an aisle seat. Sunday, March 22, 2015. Easy to be soft. The narrative genealogy I have been working on for the past few months is called Faith of our Fathers. I thank you, gentlemen of the grand jury, for the honor you have done me. While I was wicked and injurious, you took no notice of me, but since I have altered my course of life and endeavored to reform my neighbors, you concern y...

Laughing for a Living: What the soldiers say

Laughing for a Living. Most Thursday and Friday nights for the past decade I could be found hard at work.laughing in an aisle seat. Thursday, July 2, 2015. What the soldiers say. As the Fourth of July approaches, my genealogy project is snagged at the American Revolution. One of the best resources I've found is the pension applications. Years later my ancestors who served in the Revolution went to a courthouse somewhere and told the story of their service so they could receive a pension. 8220; We had an ...
