Lunes, 14 de diciembre de 2009. Every group had to make a creative mural with all the waste materials they had taken from their houses. In addition, they had made a recycled instrument at home. Some of them used the seeds from the Halloween Pumkins made by 6th graders in the school a month ago. Cada grup va poder fer un mural amb diversos materials, deixalles, que els mateixos alumnes havien portat de casa: plàstics, papers, ampolles. The final result was absolutely perfect! And with this purpose we had to "learn the song", learn how to compare, learn its content and vocabulary, learn what the 3R's are and mean.And take photos, make murals.Definitely, working a lot! Another activity (apart from making recycled instruments) consisted on bringing waste materials to the classroom, different types of trash, in order to make different collective murals with the members of the group, cooperating, sharing ideas. Viernes, 18 de diciembre de 2009. During this unit (project) we have also made a "recycling gymkhana" to observe the pupils' knowledge about "recycling". The class was distributed in three groups of 9 pupils: Reduce, Reuse and Recycle. They had different pictures of different type of materials (waste, trash) to recycle, so they had to cooperate, discuss between them, and throw the waste (the pictures) into the proper bin. Afterwards, we verified who had done it properly and which group was the "winner".
