http://christyscottagegarden.blogspot.com/2013/05/a-fond-farewell-to-may.html
Christy's Cottage Wildlife Garden. Wednesday, May 29, 2013. A Fond Farewell to May. This May was a wonderful month for my garden. Maybe it was all the rain we got at the beginning of the month that made the flowers and shrubs so happy or maybe it was the late start we had for spring. Whatever it was, I'm grateful! Every day the garden gave me something new to smile about. Come along as we take our last walk-about together in May. Sweet William and Coreopsis. Johnson's Blue" Geranium with Piglet. Things a...

Experiments and experiences in agrohomeopathy. June 23, 2013. The case of the disappearing asparagus beetle. I always seem to get asparagus beetles on my asparagus. The ones I get are the common asparagus beetle. They nibble the lovely shoots as they appear, and lay a bristle of eggs on the ends. Sometimes they make the spears grow into a curve, described poetically as a ‘shepherd’s crook’, and the constant nibbling can weaken the plants. You can also use companion plants, which are tomatoes and marigolds.

Christy's Cottage Wildlife Garden. Monday, March 25, 2013. Mother Nature Says "No Spring For You"! Although the calendar may say that spring has arrived, Mother Nature has other ideas. Here in middle Tennessee, Mother Nature has decided that it's not quite time to say goodbye to winter. We've had some very cold, gloomy, wet days since the first day of spring. Today I woke to a dusting of snow with more in the forecast for today and tomorrow. Compost and aged horse manure ha ve. Been added to all planting...

Christy's Cottage Wildlife Garden. Sunday, February 24, 2013. Mockingbirds - Part Of The Wildlife In My Garden. My favorite movie (and book) is To Kill a Mockingbird. Not because of the symbolism ,. I love mockingbirds, but the truth is that mockingbirds are bullies. They are often tyrants at the feeders. They are like a 6-year-old who hasn't learned to share and fly in to a feeder proclaiming it "Mine! One of my favorite gardening memories is from last year.
