Come ride bikes with us on Governor’s Island! Meet in front of 1WSN (the Social Work building) at 10am promptly, and we will ride/take the train/take the ferry to the island! Renting bikes is free on Fridays, so even if you don’t own your own bike you can still come with! To attend this event you MUST RSVP. At 1WSN, Silver School of Social Work.

We are currently having meetings at 5:30 every other Thursday in the student lounge of 1 Washington Square North. Currently, we are researching ideas to submit for Earth Week revolving around community gardening and local, sustainable agriculture. Feel free to make any suggestions! We’re currently working on a guide for SSSW groups and faculty that will be a handbook for green events, be they parties, conferences, or anything else! Reusable travel coffee mugs:. We are working on designing a Sustainable Silver coffee mug to help replace the amount of paper coffee cups that are used/thrown away every day. We’re formulating a design and hopefully will have these for sale this year! Increasing the amount of recycling bins in our school. Social Work and Environmental Justice Elective.
