Green Eyed Knitter: March 2010
http://greeneyedknitter.blogspot.com/2010_03_01_archive.html
The unravelings of an ever envious knitter. Monday, March 29, 2010. Last Friday I celebrated the end of the work week thinking things could not get much worse, and then along rolled Monday. This is just a touch of what I heard this week in the halls and such from or about groups of 12 and 13 year olds in my building:. When my mother took me to the gynecologist for birth control, you would not believe. Oh, that guy's a porno star. Of course I'm sure, I watch at least two of those movies a week! Fibers cel...

The unravelings of an ever envious knitter. Monday, May 31, 2010. How fitting that my poppies chose today to bloom! Truly gorgeous. The clip of my plying sample, not so much, and that is why no one shall see it! I have a friend who is constantly asking if anyone has a copy believe it or not! Well, now she does - or will - once I see her. I found this at the flea market outside of Dewittville this weekend. Posted by Common Threads. Saturday, May 08, 2010. And That's What I Did Today. Out of them cuz. BTW, ...
Green Eyed Knitter: February 2010

The unravelings of an ever envious knitter. Sunday, February 21, 2010. Do not ever tempt the gods. Less than three minutes after that last post we received a phone call that our son was on the way to the emergency room for stitches. It was not serious, just a cut foot. I need to re-read The Pearl. Posted by Common Threads. Saturday, February 20, 2010. When the Stars Align. Or I should really play the lottery today. Seriously, have you ever had a day when everything went a tad better than planned? Now the...
Green Eyed Knitter: January 2010
http://greeneyedknitter.blogspot.com/2010_01_01_archive.html
The unravelings of an ever envious knitter. Sunday, January 31, 2010. I do not do well with CHAOS. My well being is soundly grounded in the order of my physical environment. Want to know my mood? Just look around my house. I am not a complex person. Now impose the chaos on me and you can only imagine. Jake was trying to get in each and every picture so I thought I would let him have his own spot today:). Posted by Common Threads. Monday, January 18, 2010. In My Humble Opinion. We are missing a wonderful ...
Green Eyed Knitter: Time for Break

The unravelings of an ever envious knitter. Monday, July 21, 2014. This is an image of what stopped me from washing the window from the outside earlier this afternoon. I 'googled' this one as I am never going to sit still long enough to take a picture of any snake. Yuck.I was leaning out the window when he suddenly slithered by.really hate those things! I think I deserve a pedicure right about now:). Posted by Common Threads. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile.

Saturday, January 23, 2010 by smartymags. A block of approximately 4.5 pounds of amazingly clean 1/2 Finn 1/2 who knows what fleece from the Finger Lakes. We are not going to discuss what appears to be a break, well, let’s call it a weak spot in this gorgeousness. It mostly needs to be washed to rid itself of those pesky cats:.

Huh The Year in Review. Friday, January 22, 2010 by smartymags. You know, it seems like I’m always working on something–knitting or cross stitch or something. But I cannot recall more than one or two items from the past year. Let’s review. I guess I cast on for a modified Kimono Shawl from. Ah Yes. Here it is. There was a Silk F...
Knitting with Fire: The Bunny Chauffeur
http://knittingwithfire.blogspot.com/2013/01/the-bunny-chauffeur.html
Saturday, January 26, 2013. Poppa arriving at his new foster home, Blue Skies Forever. I just chauffeured 2 rabbits about 80 miles today. This is pretty common in rescue; the town where animals end up in trouble is not always the town where a rescuer has space for them until they can be adopted into their forever home. The other thing that is sadly common is rabbits suffering because of human ignorance and neglect. It’s an age old story. Someone went to a pet store and bought a rabbit. Rabbits have devel...

Sunday, July 29, 2012. Deer Proofing the Garden. A few days ago as I weeded I removed the covers from our broccoli plants. We cover them while they're young and tender so that the rabbits don't eat them to the ground. The day after removing the covers, this was what I found:. We're big softies about animals, so we don't want any solutions that would harm either the rabbits or the deer. I started looking into garden fencing online, and it's EPENSIVE! We did several things. We spread Milorganite. Since Chr...

Knitting with Fire: How to Knit Argyle Socks in the Round
http://knittingwithfire.blogspot.com/2013/09/how-to-knit-argyle-socks-in-round.html
Friday, September 13, 2013. How to Knit Argyle Socks in the Round. Want the pattern for the socks pictured here? Click here to purchase*. Traditionally, the leg of an argyle sock is knit flat. Once the leg has been knit it is seamed up the back, and the rest of the sock is knit in the round. This is fine for the un-ambitious. Personally, I prefer to knit anything I can in one piece. I’ve played with a few different ways to knit argyle in the round over the years. That’s what I’m sharing here. To figure o...

Sunday, August 24, 2014. Whole Wheat Sourdough Bread. Inspired by Michael Pollen's book Cooked. And several Science Friday guests, I started experimenting with whole wheat sourdough bread about a year ago. I've played around with the recipe, and now that I have something that I like, and that gives me consistent results, I'm sharing it here. Get the starter out of the fridge at least 2 feedings before you plan to mix your dough. Pour off the layer of alcohol on top (this is normal) and then feed with:.

Tuesday, August 06, 2013. The Year of the Snake. 2013 is the year of the snake. I celebrated back in January with my fiber pals at Raveloe. We dyed long thin sock blanks to look like snakes. Everyone had their choice of what to do next. I unravelled mine and knit socks as intended. I am one of the lucky few people who have a reaction to their bites. Not terrible, but my hands puffed up for a day, and that snake was set into the flower bed less gently and from a greater distance than the others. Buffalo G...
Knitting with Fire: June 2012
http://knittingwithfire.blogspot.com/2012_06_01_archive.html
Tuesday, June 26, 2012. Here I am at the farmhouse working at the festival. I found a new "local" fiber I've never spun before. It has spun up fairly soft and looks like it will bloom into a bit of a halo. Any guesses as to what it is? Please guess in the comments. Links to this post. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Since Chris and Erica are always working on something, it seems like a good theme for Knitting with Fire would be to talk about current projects. We'll see where it goes. Podcasts Worth a Listen.

I found these today. Probably the oldest pics I currently have on my phone, from about a year and a half ago. We were having a fun afternoon with Nana (aka Linda, My MIL). But first, we had to wait for Nana to show a house before continuing with our plans for the day. We kept ourselves entertained in the car. Read more about Throwback Thursday! The unravelings of an ever envious knitter. Tuesday, December 12, 2017. Silly me. I thought this blog was long gone. Who knew that the interwebs would allow my small words to remain in the cloud, never touched. Never read. Not a sad thing. A good thing. Something to revisit - a bit like a long lost photo album. But I must admit, turning the pages of a physical entity is much more satisfying. So today I feel a bit like Amy's SnowBaby Igloo. Posted by Common Threads. Monday, July 21, 2014. Today, no crafti...
