RNIB and Vision Australia libraries on YouTube (8 June). Posted by Sally Cummings on Friday, June 8, 2012 Under: Professional. I regularly monitor Twitter and other channels for news and developments related to accessibility in libraries and the broader community. I recently came across this YouTube video from the RNIB (Royal National Institute of Blind People). And closed captioning would have been a plus as well. 2012 is the National Year of Reading. Out and about in. Laquo; Back to posts. Subscribe to...

#Octshowntell Week 1
http://www.sallysetsforth.com/index/-octshowntell-week-1
Posted by Sally Cummings on Monday, October 18, 2010 Under: Technology. First there was #blogeverydayofjune. Then there was #1pic1thoughtinAug. Now it's time for #Octshowntell. Octshowntell is a challenge to explore a variety of digital storytelling tools - one each week in October - and share the results on Twitter, using the #Octshowntell hashtag. As well as being great fun, it's a terrific idea to get to know these tools, and to consider how they can be used in both personal and professional contexts.

As part of the online version of the treasure hunt, we used video clips that I created with an online tool called Blabberize. Here's one of the videos that we used in the treasure hunt:. Feral Librarian Tales: School days, they pass so quickly...
http://ferallibrarytales.blogspot.com/2012/01/school-days-they-pass-so-quickly.html
Having reverted to the wild state, as from domestication.". Tuesday, January 31, 2012. School days, they pass so quickly. I remember waving my first child off to school for the first time and having a small weep on the way home in the car. I remember being apprehensive about how the day would go, how he would feel, be accepted and if he would accept readily the new group rules and dynamic. So my advice is buy lots of stationery, get them a new back pack every year, but let them choose it, help with the h...

Scrapbooking projects and more! I have an 8 month old…. September 23, 2009. And boy do we all know about it right now! He is so frustrated trying to move but not quite getting there yet. Cam is also loving standing and bouncing in your arms while flapping his wings as if that will help him take off! I am not ready for that! Who gets anywhere with 3 kids by 8.30? I do enjoy not having to rush ...
