Prairie Home Therapy: Be Gone, Yellow-Green
https://prairiehometherapy.blogspot.com/2015/07/be-gone-yellow-green.html
Declutter Your Home in 31 Days. The One Room Challenges. Wednesday, July 29, 2015. Be Gone, Yellow-Green. Did you think the doors and trim were white? They've always been a light yellow. Just goes to show 1) the relativity of colour and 2) just how dark it was in there. The baseboards are painted cloud white by Benjamin Moore- and it's an off-white. It's practically glowing next to that dingy yellow trim. We still have a ways to go before that dratted yellow-green is gone from everywhere:. Im excited to ...

On the coffee table…
http://www.thissortaoldlife.com/2014/10/27/on-the-coffee-table
Oct 27, 2014. On the coffee table…. It is officially warm sock weather around here:. The leaves are turning, the temperatures are dropping, and my beloved rain has finally returned. All of which means that it’s the perfect time to curl up with a good book. Animal, Vegetable, Miracle. Page 67-68, HarperPerennial paperback edition). There’s such a post I want to write about food, but it’s still all a jumble I can’t sort out coherently yet. I know this book is old news now, but it̵...Yes, Barbara Kingso...

Allotment update – July and August | the magic jug
https://themagicjug.wordpress.com/2015/08/14/allotment-update-july-and-august
Growing where I'm planted. A lovely evening: food from waste (again) →. Allotment update – July and August. August 14, 2015. Deborah @ the magic jug. Much of June and July felt like a write-off due to prolonged sleep problems. I did what I needed to do, and some of what I wanted to do. But I didn’t manage to do all that I wanted to do. Which goes some way towards explaining why the allotment is now as it is. When I was a little girl, my mum used to recite a rhyme:. Right in the middle of her forehead.

Are you already doing the thing you’re meant to do? – Rita’s notebook
http://ritaottramstad.com/uncategorized/are-you-already-doing-the-thing-youre-meant-to-do
The seinfeld of blogs. Are you already doing the thing you’re meant to do? July 27, 2015. July 30, 2015. During a visit to Powell’s. Early this summer, I found myself irritated by yet another book of the follow-your-bliss ilk, Elle Luna’s The Crossroads of Should and Must: Find and Follow Your Passion. What a churlish, bitter old person I must be, to find such a positive and inspiring (and visually adorable) book irritating! 8220;–despite the fact that I had, for a while, rejected the whole idea th...

Trapped In North Jersey: No more paper towels
http://trappedinnorthjersey.blogspot.com/2014/12/no-more-paper-towels.html
Tuesday, December 16, 2014. No more paper towels. I've thought about getting rid of paper towels for a while. We use so many of them, I would like to spend less money on them, and I would like to be a little greener. A few weeks ago I decided to actually take the plunge. One day at Costco, in the stuff to wash your car aisle, was a 50 pack of white rough terrycloth rags for $19. Aha! Can be used in any situation! Posted by Lisa @ Lisa Moves. Garden Party – Rita’s notebook
http://ritaottramstad.com/projects/garden-notes
The seinfeld of blogs. April 12, 2015. April 12, 2015. I’ve since been sick as all get out (perhaps because I did about 4 hours of hard garden work rather than resting that day? So I never posted this. What we started with: some scrubby herbs hanging on for dear life, onions that we planted in the fall, and some weedy-looking things. Needed to dig all this up. Was pleased to see so many of these guys when I started turning up the dirt. Refrained from making a worm-ring a la Ramona the Pest. The spinach i...

(sorta) Losing my religion – Rita’s notebook
http://ritaottramstad.com/reading/sorta-losing-my-religion
The seinfeld of blogs. Sorta) Losing my religion. July 17, 2015. July 17, 2015. I was raised (sorta) Catholic, but as a teen and young adult it was in books that I placed my true faith. When I needed help knowing what to do and how to be, I turned to fiction, memoir, and poetry, where I found solace, companionship, adventure, wonder, and answers to important questions. No, they are not. 8211;I wondered if I should end the relationship. Um, no. Not really. During May, I did a massive weeding at one of the...

August break progress report – Rita’s notebook

The seinfeld of blogs. August break progress report. August 9, 2015. August 8, 2015. For once I’m actually following through on a project I announced on a blog! I’ve been doing the August Break. Project for a whole week now! This wasn’t part of the project, but it was part of the week–a birthday card I made for Cane. As the instructors at my gym often say, “The important thing is to just keep moving! Here’s what I got for week 1:. You can see Day 1 here. I wonder this because I don’t know that I...

Trapped In North Jersey: Minimalism vs. decor: where the rubber meets the road
http://trappedinnorthjersey.blogspot.com/2014/11/minimalism-vs-decor-where-rubber-meets.html
Friday, November 14, 2014. Minimalism vs. decor: where the rubber meets the road. Minimalism starts with the concept that the "having of stuff" is not what defines your life. Your life should be built around people, not things. The notion of decor is, on the other hand, essentially defined by the having of stuff. Pretty stuff. Stuff that will look nice on your mantel and in your bedroom. Stuff that will make people walk into your house and gasp in delight at your design chutzpah. For a long time I've liv...

Craft Monday – oh katie joy
http://www.ohkatiejoy.com/2015/07/craft-monday
Joy in the Day to Day. July 27, 2015. August 6, 2016. Jesse took three days of vacation last week and we went nowhere. It was heavenly. More bike rides, more dinners by the pool, more swimming, more playing, more lazing reading. Have you heard enough about that yet? It’s our summer version of Groundhog Day. But today we had nothing on the docket so I decided to steal another craft idea. You might also like. Leave a Comment Cancel reply. Your email address will not be published. July 27, 2015 at 11:25 pm.
