Friday, December 08, 2006. Are you still checking this old place? Ah what times we witnessed here, eh? Well, it is almost 2007. Every day I wake up and it's a bit of a new ball game. Occasionally, I take a swing and the bat connects and, swoosh! Have you ever known me to be good at sports metaphors? Basically, this post is to redirect you to my latest endeavor. With great affection and warmest December greetings,. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Living in the now.

Saturday, March 11, 2006. March 12th, 2006. Sunday is the one year anniversary of the death of my mother- who died far too young (age 61) and most unfairly at the hands of colon cancer that crept silently into her liver and killed her. There are often times when I think about life and death and how many times it claims such fantastically wonderful people. And the only conclusion that makes any sense is that it is a secret blessing. "Time off for good behavior", I call it. It's been one hell of a 12 months.

http://sandwichmonkey.blogspot.com/2006/07/2500-miles-later.html
Sunday, July 23, 2006. Merciful heavens, do I love a good road trip! This time 'round was a solo endeavor. I headed out Sunday early morning and drove to Santa Cruz. I got there in the early afternoon and spent the rest of the day hanging out with my cousin and his family who I only see a few times a year. An impromptu water park was created in the backyard. I was treated to wine and turkey dogs and a yummy fruit tart. Excellent times! I meant I stopped in Eugene. Where did YOU think I was going? Nicole ...

Saturday, July 15, 2006. Tomorrow morning as early as I can muster, I shall take off up the coast. I am embarrassingly unprepared, but that will only make things, um, more exciting. Destination: Portland- by way of Santa Cruz and whatever else. Stories and a few pix will be posted upon my return. (unless I happen upon the interweb during my travels). Have a wonderful week, monkeys. I mean that most sincerely. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Part 2: The Thrilling Conclusion. 1000 miles ahead of me.

Monday, July 24, 2006. Part 2: The Thrilling Conclusion. Here's what happens somtimes:. I never know where I'm going until I get there. I woke up on Thursday morning and tried on a lot of different thoughts. The one that fit best was the one where I packed up my things and headed to Astoria, seizing the opportunity to fulfill a childhood dream of visiting the magical pirate-treasured boobytrapped town of one of my very favorite movies from the mid 80's. It was very peaceful. I felt an inner calm I ha...

Sunday, February 05, 2006. This is a post is about the man who is my father. It was right around this time 62 years ago that he popped out of the womb ready to greet the world and see what was going on. He practiced the violin, had a pet raccoon, went to college, managed to avoid the Viet Nam draft, met my mom, got married, and had ME and my sister. My father wore- and still wears many hats. He is many different things to different people. In lieu of a bad rhyming poem, I am writing a boring old list.
