Baby Music | The Twenty Something Mom
https://thetwentysomethingmom.wordpress.com/baby-music
The Twenty Something Mom. Music exposure is a tremendous tool in parenting and child development. As a musician, I am a HUGE advocate for babies listening to music ALL. THE. TIME. Seriously. Wake up to it. Fall asleep to it. Dance to it. Play to it. Sing to it. Learn to it. Children should be exposed to varying kinds of music if its soothing, calming, and helping them to think happy thoughts and generate positive emotions. In my opinion, ideal categories for this are classical, bluegrass and new age.

All the pretty colors. Newer posts →. November 2, 2008 · 3:35 pm. Reduce, reuse, recycle. Growing up, my mom was sure to deck my room fit for a princess. We didn’t have a ton of money, so I know what a sacrifice it was for her to purchase the whole brand new Bassett bedroom furniture set with a full-size canopy bed, a dresser with vanity, a chest, a night stand and a desk and extension with bookcase hutches. That’s right my friends, I tried to think of the piece of furniture I was lacking and how I...

All the pretty colors. November 15, 2008 · 6:55 pm. And I did two projects. Well, I guess three if you count the big pot of chili I’ve been waiting all summer to make. Since getting my December issue of Country Living magazine. LOVE THIS MAG. Can’t get enough of CL), which was only like three days ago, I’ve had my mind set on making a wreath for this autumn Thanksgiving season. This issue talks about the Wreath Goddess and blogger extraordinaire Minna, who blogs here. Honestly it was so simple! This is a...

All the pretty colors. December 22, 2008 · 5:15 pm. Tweet Tweet said the Bird. This week’s master jammer is Andrew Bird. Local Chicago guy has got the music – in a phrase –. He’s a multi-instrumentalist. Great on the violin, and my favorite, he’s a fantastic whistler. Bird popped up on my Pandora. Station months ago. I’ve been rockin out to his tunes for almost a year, but didn’t pay him too much attention until a friend of mine Jake-a-saurus Rex. Said, “Hey, check out Andrew Bird.”. Keep it up Birdman.

The Twenty Something Mom. An all new low. November 28, 2009 in arts et cetera. I flourish when I’m busy. I work well under pressure. But everyone has a saturation point. Imagine this: the day after Thanksgiving; that fateful Black Friday that I’ve been all too delighted to avoid. I light a candle to fill the home with the delicious artificial scents of the holiday season, slump into the couch with my favorite Country Living magazine, and wait for my guests to arrive. 8220;Mommy, oatmeal and eggs? 8221; &...

The Twenty Something Mom. Have I crossed the line? November 26, 2009 in balance. It’s official. I’ve become MOM. Yep, not just a twentysomething mom, but an all out MOM. It’s been a long time since I’ve written about life in the world of young parenthood, but now’s the time to start up again. In the past few months, I’ve left my Great American corporate job-with-benefits to stay home and spend time with the children. What, you say? But why the sudden reality check of mothering? BOXing Day. Where you ...

The Twenty Something Mom. Michael, Michael, you will be missed…. June 25, 2009 in arts et cetera. Ok, so complete shock in the King of Pop’s passing. I think the rest of the world feels the same, as almost every cable news station is streaming coverage of this untimely passing. We’ll also miss Farrah, but I feel bad that, while a star in her own right, she’s being almost completely overshadowed by the bigger star here. Michael, you were supposed to last! An all new low.
