green pea studio: August 2014
http://greenpeastudio.blogspot.com/2014_08_01_archive.html
Sunday, August 24, 2014. I've had to put my rainbow cards top on hold while I finish up my August bee blocks. A few aqua units made a break for it while I was distracted (I think the cat might have helped with their escape), but I'm hoping they can be rounded up without too much trouble. Wednesday, August 13, 2014. Based on the Play a Card. Pattern by Zen Chic, but a tad smaller. There are 112 different fabrics, all from stash (scraps mostly), save six of the pale violets and a few Botanics. I cut rough ...

Friday, December 12, 2014. Some mindless yet practical sewing. My house is old. Like over a century old. And with all that charm and character comes drafty windows. I sat down at my machine the other night and started sewing random scraps together that had been left the sewing table. Not long after - ta da! One draft snake was complete. A big improvement over the dish towels I normally use! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Visit the Annex for tutorials! Anatomy of a block. A few of my favorites.

green pea studio: December 2013
http://greenpeastudio.blogspot.com/2013_12_01_archive.html
Tuesday, December 17, 2013. Note to self: never ever buy a neutral solid for a project without noting the color name / number. (or any solid for that matter). Especially when you decide to change the sashing width and run out 3/4 of the way through the project. I was fairly certain that it was a Bella Solid. And fortunately found the matching bolt at the LQS without too much anxiety. Phew. From now on, I'm taking photos of the bolt labels when I make a purchase, and. Attaching a note to any leftovers!

green pea studio: March 2015
http://greenpeastudio.blogspot.com/2015_03_01_archive.html
Sunday, March 1, 2015. I'm up to lead this month for my circle of do.good stitches and have opted for sets of four flying geese in spring colors. Inspired in part by the cherry trees currently in bloom and our unusually blue skies. (This time of year it should be grey and spitting rain! There are several ways to make flying geese and I thought I'd summarize the four I know. Depending on the situation, one technique may work better than others. Traditional method. One at a time. Press the corner open.

It's the perfect bold and splashy backing for what will otherwise be a very reserved quilt. January 29, 2015 at 3:13 PM.
