If you like what we do, you can support us in a number of ways:. By signing-up for the mailer. By coming along to shows. By making a donation. All donations, no matter how small, are very welcome. So if you’ve a lonely fiver going begging, then why not give it a good home? We will put it to very good use - supporting artists and interesting nights out in Manchester. And without a building to focus attention, a small peripatetic organisation like us needs all its supporters’ help. Of new performance dates.

Once Upon a Time in York: October 2011
http://onceuponatimeinyork.blogspot.com/2011_10_01_archive.html
Once Upon a Time in York. Monday, 24 October 2011. We have our own front door these days. When you open it you are greeted by these stairs. Please admire the dirt-coloured carpet. The stairs are steep, and for whatever reason, the steps themselves are small, forcing you to descend at an angle. Maybe folks had itty bitty feet in the 1880s. Fortunately, there is a handrail for clinging on to. I am used to the stairs now. They are less scary, although it will always be a challenge to take a cup of tea u...

Diary of the creative process(2010 - 2012). Saturday, 14 May 2011. Following funding cuts announced earlier this year, greenroom, Manchester’s only dedicated new performance venue for nearly quarter of a century, is closing down. I have been performing and creating work at this very interesting and friendly venue, and am very sad to hear about the news. Their extraordinary legacy is currently being documented on their online archive. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). View my complete profile. With students on ...

Once Upon a Time in York: The Spoken Word
http://onceuponatimeinyork.blogspot.com/2011/10/spoken-word.html
Once Upon a Time in York. Wednesday, 5 October 2011. I went to an open mic called The Spoken Word. Last night at the Exhibition Hotel, just outside Bootham Bar, very close to some big church the locals call the "Minster". I hadn't been to this pub before. It seems a popular place (location location location! Or in their forties, for that matter? Are they all busy hatching children and only make friends with other parents? The Spoken Word wasn't the late, lamented Freed Up of Manchester's greenroom. RIP),...
