Friday, March 19, 2010. Otis and Rascal joined our family on St. Patrick's Day. We adopted the two Shih Tsu brothers from an animal shelter in Bellingham, Washington. Their owner could no longer take care of them. It was stipulated that they couldn't be separated and the rest is history. They are going to need some work, but seem to be settling in pretty well. They were here for Friday's storm and we spent the day "Storm Watching". We had only one sailing of the Queen of Burnaby from Little River (Comox) and back, while the Texada ferry made all her trips. We were in South Surrey August 28th when the news of the day was about the incredible number of Sockeye Salmon making their way from the Ocean up the Fraser River to spawn. They say this was the biggest run in at least 100 years. The news broadcasts also told of the fresh salmon being sold right off the fish boats at Steve.
