Everyday Miracles: Merry Christmas, Lest We Forget
http://gregandshannonnelson.blogspot.com/2012/12/merry-christmas-lest-we-forget.html
Even little ones make a difference. Wednesday, December 19, 2012. Merry Christmas, Lest We Forget. The thought hasn't sat quite right to me, though, and I've mulled it over the last couple of days. This morning it dawned on me that Christmas is exactly. Who doesn't need to see a million nativity scenes to remind us that the Savior really was here and really did do what He came to do? Or angels from heaven who proclaimed His birth? Bells to ring out the joyful news? Music to give voice to that news? Even ...
Everyday Miracles: Sandwich Rolls
http://gregandshannonnelson.blogspot.com/2012/10/sandwich-rolls.html
Even little ones make a difference. Tuesday, October 2, 2012. Last week I read about an very ingenious idea. On Everydayfoodstorage.net- make sandwiches cinnamon roll style, bake and freeze them. The kids just grab one (or two if they are teenage boys! The members of my family are not huge mustard fans, so I did make a couple of changes from the recipe at Everydayfoodstorage.net. First, I used the basic bread recipe from Fasteasybread.com. Cream of Chicken soup mix. 2 c non-instant powdered milk. For the...

Everyday Miracles: March 2012
http://gregandshannonnelson.blogspot.com/2012_03_01_archive.html
Even little ones make a difference. Tuesday, March 20, 2012. This is turning into a medical blog. Not exactly the direction I'd hoped to take, but outside of school, the doctor's office is becoming one of our most visited places. At least this experience involves a new (specialized) doctor. And let him know if it came back in the next few months. Well, come back it did, so we were referred to an oculoplastic surgeon who told us that, yes, it was probably a virus or it could be cancer. What? The growth ha...

Mudge Messenger: Reality
http://mudgemessenger.blogspot.com/2014/08/reality.html
Saturday, August 30, 2014. Lachlan knows everything about how the world really works. Mom, water IS a vegetable because 'vegetable' means healthy! Parents don't know much. Kids know! My mind isn't smart. It knows everything! It knows about heaven and Jesus.". Why do they call it a living room? It's not living. If it was living it would be a human and he would have arms and legs and a mouth and walk around and hair. The TV would be on the green carpet.". While Jackson chooses to ignore reality all together.

Our Whitty Family: October 2010
http://olivebunch.blogspot.com/2010_10_01_archive.html
Tuesday, October 19, 2010. Birth Order and Flossing. I've made sure they are fed, rested, bathed, dressed, brushed, washed, wiped, and hopefully taught and loved. When am I supposed to get to flossing? Life definitely gets fuller as time goes on and life for the first child is definitely different that life for the last. And that's ok. Good and bad. It's a package deal. But what goes around comes around. Today I took the last child to the dentist. Turns out he has 8 cavities. Eight! Mr and Mrs. Whitty.
Our Whitty Family: Tuesday's Terrific Tip
http://olivebunch.blogspot.com/2011/09/tuesdays-terrific-tip.html
Tuesday, September 6, 2011. I have been doing a pretty good job so far this school year with cooking breakfast. It's not something I've always done but this year it's working out and I'm loving it! I found a GREAT recipe for whole wheat pancake mix here. The pancakes are healthy and hearty and you can enjoy the convenience of a mix for a fraction of the cost. (Sounds like I just wrote a pancake commercial! Whole-Wheat Oatmeal Pancake Mix. This will make 10 cups of dry mix.). 3 1/2 cups quick oats.

Capturing the Moment: October 2008
http://katsvent.blogspot.com/2008_10_01_archive.html
Monday, October 27, 2008. This happened a few months ago, but I was reminded of it tonight and thought this is something to tease him about in his teenage years. David, Kaleb and I were driving down the street when someone cut David off, David muttered, "You moron" (because he likes to talk to other drivers which can't hear him but he likes to give them "the look" as he passes them) sorry, I digress, I'm here to tease Kaleb not David, anyway, Kaleb from the backseat asks, "Dad, what's a moron? 8 Things o...

The Bowler Brigade: June 2011
http://beanbo.blogspot.com/2011_06_01_archive.html
Wednesday, June 22, 2011. That taste of my husband's dessert amounted to a little less than half of his slice of pie. I had been converted. No disrespect to my dear Mother. And so it is with great delight that I share this recipe with you. Enjoy. 1 cup all purpose flour. 1/3 cup powdered sugar. 1/3 cup cold butter. 1 1/4 cup sugar. 1/4 cup all purpose flour. 1/2 tsp. salt. 2 eggs gently beaten. 3 cups chopped fresh rhubarb (you can use frozen and it should be fine). 3/4 cup all purpose flour. I say, why ...
