Friday, August 29, 2014. 7 of May 1775. My Dearest Wife Charlotte,. Under different circumstances, my dear beloved Charlotte, you would, I am most certain, be proud that you did take Willie Isaac Hosner as your loving wedded husband. Links to this post. What's that snitch doin' here? White Guy sees shiny black Mercedes parked across street by laundromat. Snitch, long in leg and torso, eases out, stretches, shakes loose with jive moves. Mr Hill murmurs to leashed Precious in grass beside laundromat. Mr Hill speaks softly, articulates with casual care. They heard h...

Crime Time : Murder in the Wings [book report]
http://mdpaust.blogspot.com/2015/08/murder-in-wings-book-report.html
Saturday, August 1, 2015. Murder in the Wings [book report]. Were I Police Detective Edelman and I had the faded TV star Stephen Wade in my custody I'd lock him up, close the case and take a long, well-deserved vacation. This is one murder rap not even my buddy Jack Dwyer- former cop, now private eye and sometime actor—is going to upend, believe me. I mean, look. Let's be realistic here. Wade's fingerprints are all over the knife that's buried in Michael Reeves's back. Okay? Murder in the Wings. Ed Gorma...

Crime Time : A Cry of Shadows [forgotten book]
http://mdpaust.blogspot.com/2015/08/a-cry-of-shadows-lost-book.html
Monday, August 10, 2015. A Cry of Shadows [forgotten book]. There's no clue in. A Cry of Shadows. Jack Dwyer would not be back. No hint his strangest and most engrossing mystery would be his last—the last one he solves, anyway. The biggest mystery, his disappearance, remains to this day. It's been a quarter century since Dwyer, the cop who went private so he could pursue an acting career, went the way of Amelia Earhart. His creator, Ed Gorman, was at the top of his game. A Cry of Shadows. A Cry of Shadows.

Crime Time : The Autumn Dead [book report]

Monday, August 3, 2015. The Autumn Dead [book report]. No doubt serious scholars of Ed Gorman's extensive literary oeuvre would sniff, or even snicker, were I to suggest that Sam McCain was conceived at least twelve years before. The Day the Music Died. I hate being subjected to academic scorn. This is why I would never suggest that arguably Gorman's most popular character became a gleam in its creator's mind's eye sometime during the writing of. It is irrelevant, I would contend, that. The Cry of Shadows.

The Year of Writing Dangerously: November 2012
http://theyearofwritingdangerously.blogspot.com/2012_11_01_archive.html
The Year of Writing Dangerously. Take heart with the day and begin again. Monday, November 12, 2012. I Love My Writing Community. One of the greatest stories to come from this bloggy thing we do, is my striking up a correspondence with a writer called Laura Stanfill. Laura, a former journalist, heard of me through a mutual friend and contacted me to be part of her 7 Questions for Writers interview series. (I mentioned this in a previous post. And her husband, Gregg. And Shasta Kearns Moore. Follow Me On ...

Thursday, January 29, 2015. Seven Archangels: Annihilation (a review). All is not heavenly in Heaven. Demons have abducted the Archangel Gabriel and have him chained in a dungeon in Hell. In Heaven the angels are debating whether to invade Hell and try to rescue their number one hornblower. They bicker and squabble. I was surprised to learn that even angels cant just get along. They do manage to agree on allowing one angel to slip into Hell undercover to do some reconnaissance. Links to this post. Our cu...
