Friday, May 29, 2009. Iron Horse Bicycle Classic. The Iron Horse started a few decades ago when a couple friends thought it would be fun to race the train from Durango to Silverton over two mountain passes (topping out at 10,910 feet) and 50 miles of road. It's now a big event that draws thousands of people from all over the country. Only the "citizen" class actually races the train now, and the competitive categories get to Silverton in under three hours. The shrinking group heads up the Coal Bank Climb).

Tuesday, June 30, 2009. Elkhorn Classic Stage Race. Baker City, Oregon. ACR’s Lunning, Turner, Tuttle, and Van Orsdel took on the Elkhorn Classic Stage Race in Baker City, OR from July 19-21. We left with seven top-10 finishes, a 6th place overall and a 14th overall, out of a field of about 90 pro/1/2 racers. Vicious weather, strong competition, and the warmth and charm of Baker City made this a memorable race. Stage One: Oregon Trail Road Race. Stage Two: Pleasant Valley Time Trial. Turner motored up th...

Tuesday, May 27, 2008. SugarCRM Memorial Day Crit. Big field, flat office-park roads, 75 minutes. Not much to say about this one. Round and around, no breakaways, bunch sprint. Tuesday, August 26, 2008. Elite Amateur National Championships. August 10th, 2008. The Cat 1 National Championship race was a killer. It took place in Orange County this year, which is an odd place for a bike race…. I had a very nice trip down with my dad, who flew us from Napa to Newport Beach in about one and a half hours. It sure beat two days of driving I-5! It made the road race into a 126-mile crit. It was insane. A huge congratulations to James Mattis, who stuck the win! Posted by Ian Tuttle.

Sunday, December 21, 2008. White Bread is pretty essential here. I tried whole wheat, and multigrain, and other “healthy” options, but they all sat lumpy in my stomach. The bleached out flour in white bread is easier to digest and the simpler sugars are more accessible to your system. A great option is the wonderbread Hotdog bun. Perfect size and shape, and great texture. Jam, because it’s the sweetest. This is the crux move here… Honestly, the carton says it all: a “heavenly classic! Posted by Ian Tuttle.

Tuesday, August 18, 2009. Big thanks to Veronika Lenzi. Posted by Ian Tuttle. Dunnigan Hills Road Race. The undulating Dunnigan Hills, just West of Sacramento, CA. The nitty-gritty: The wind was the iron fist in this race, throwing gusty haymakers in our faces all the live-long day. After the initial break of about ten went up the road with a Lombardi's guy, some Webcor representation, and others, (did I mention there were about 15 webcor guys in our race? The little green men have landed!

Wednesday, April 29, 2009. Tour of the Gila, Stage 1. First of all, best result award goes to David Van Orsdel in the Cat II race with his 9th place finish in a 70-man field. Chris Johnson, also in the cat II race, reported a shock to the system coming into a 94-mile road race at an elevation of 6,000 feet after all his 30-mile philly crits, but he finished out the day in good standing. Race photos are here. Four more good hard stages await! Posted by Ian Tuttle. Monday, April 27, 2009. Competing in the ...
