History and Art and Musings. August 18, 2015. With a name like Angel Oak , this has to be one special tree. Located at 3688 Angel Oak Road, on Johns Island, this live oak is estimated to be between 300 and 400 years old. Aside from its beauty, the tree was named the 2004 South Carolina Heritage Tree. It is not the height of the tree that is impressive, but rather its massive canopy and the realization that this tree was a sapling before. Mace Brown Natural History Museum. August 1, 2015. In spite of this harsh punishment, Vestal Virgins were highly regarded in ancient Rome and there are artifacts that suggest they existed even before the Romans. So, remember to keep your vows and don’t be lured into a dungeon with the promise of fine wine. Image 4: ...

Uncharted

Sunday, July 3, 2011. Well, everyone, my trip has come to an end. I'm writing this post from my house in Nebraska.
