IPOP has been used in various cloud computing research projects, including:. Project uses IPOP to create virtual private clusters for running batches of long-running simulations across distributed virtual machines running Linux and the open-source HTCondor job scheduler. Testbed includes a distributed infrastructure for research on cloud middleware and applications, and uses IPOP to allow users to create their own private virtual networks for education/training. Exploring innovative approaches to parallel, grid, and cloud computing. Monday, February 25, 2013. Tips: Source installation on your home directory. Hi, this is my first post. I'd like to share some tips on this blog. The first tip is source installation of software. Sometimes I want to try some new version of software for fun or for study, and install it on my home directory. The source installation is basically 5 steps. Saturday, March 15, 2008. Virtual Machine Grid Implementations. Virtual machines are becoming popular in grid computing as they provide a way to abstract the grid resources and allow grid applications to be run without worrying about the underlying platform of the resource. Virtual machines in grid computing can be implemented in different ways. Depending on the purpose and intention of the grid, each implementation can have its benefits and drawbacks. Virtual Machines on Grid Infrastructure. Virtual mac...

Wednesday, December 9, 2009. Copy-on-Write using Ubuntu 9.10. Recently, I've been working on getting a package that enables copy-on-write for Ubuntu 9.10. The use-case would be Grid Appliance. A project that I have been working on for the past 3 and half years. Previously, I had used Debian. Created a special kernel, and messed around with the init scripts. During which, I experimented with both UnionFS. Which implements the UnionFS system on top of Fuse. Posted by David Wolinsky. View my complete profile.
