Backpacking and Packrafting in Scotland (and Beyond.). Monday, 23 December 2013. We passed through a wintery Braemar around 10pm and finally pulled up near the Bridge of Invercauld shortly thereafter. After a little crunching through dry, powdery snow we were fortunate to find a place to bed down without the need to put up our tarps. We had plenty of shelter from above, although were exposed on all sides, and there was plenty of space for us both to roll out and get some sleep. Suiting up for the day.

Saturday, 28 July 2012. Kayak, Oosterschelde. (NL). Ik ben na een lange tijd, waarin ik door familie omstandigheden nauwelijks iets met mijn kajak heb ondernomen, eindelijk weer eens op pad geweest. Ik had op mijn verlanglijstje al een poosje de Oosterschelde staan met als 'vaste' basis camping 'De Vier Bannen' bij Ouwerkerk. De weersverwachting was prima, ik heb gauw alles in de auto gegooid en ben richting Zeeland gereden. Weergeven op een grotere kaart. Als je geluk hebt kom je er zeehonden tegen.

Monday, 17 June 2013. Canoe, Kortenhoefse Plassen (NL). Het natuurgebied bij Kortenhoef blijft prachtig. Het is er gelukkig verboden voor motorvaart. Ik ben er al vaak geweest en voer toen meestal de uitgezette route. Nu ben ik een beetje gaan rondkijken op andere plekken. Vaak loopt een kreekje na een tijdje dood en moet je keren. Het gebied heeft straks als 'waterreservoir' een grotere capaciteit dan voorheen. Hiermee is in de toekomst, als de Maas hoog mocht staan, de waterafvoer beter te reguleren.
