Saturday, November 6, 2010. Installing X and GNOME for CentOS. Today, I was setting up my next laboratory for my course of Network Foundations. There are seven computers with Ubuntu (2) and CentOS(5) as operating systems. I found that CentOS-based systems did not deploy any graphical user interface and I googled how to install gnome packages and I found this link. It explains how to install the X Window System and the GNOME Desktop Environment. The command is as follows (as root):. Nice, ;-).

Monday, January 2, 2012. Focus follows mouse for Unity. Something that I love from X window systems is the possibility to activate a window with no click on it. However, Unity and Gnome 3 by default do not make accessible this feature. I googled how to activate the "focus follows mouse" feature and I found this link.
