Travels of a Retired Teacher: October 2014
http://ilovemexico2013.blogspot.com/2014_10_01_archive.html
Travels of a Retired Teacher. Friday, October 31, 2014. Image from the web). I suppose you could say that I am a Halloween Grinch. Even though Alejandro is up here on Halloween for the first time, I am not doing anything to celebrate it. no costumes, no candy, no ghoulish decorations. I didn't even buy a pumpkin, much less carve a jack o' lantern. I can remember decades ago when more than 100 "trick-or-treaters" would come to the door. Now there are very few. But to my readers in the United States. We ha...

Travels of a Retired Teacher: December 2014
http://ilovemexico2013.blogspot.com/2014_12_01_archive.html
Travels of a Retired Teacher. Monday, December 29, 2014. Pictured below is a colonial plaza in the historic center of Mexico City. Can you name it? What religious organization once had its headquarters on one side of this plaza? On another side of the plaza is a colonnade where a group of people have been practicing their unique profession since colonial times. Can you name their occupation? Now can anyone answer the bonus questions? Joan correctly answered the first bonus question. It is true, as Jo...

Travels of a Retired Teacher: April 2015
http://ilovemexico2013.blogspot.com/2015_04_01_archive.html
Travels of a Retired Teacher. Thursday, April 30, 2015. I have read that there is a gadget that thieves can use to read the information on your passport and credit cards even while those items are securely on your person. Well, it would seem that I fell victim to that nasty technology. I double checked my other two cards, and there was no problem. I will, however, be checking them more frequently than usual for a while, just to be sure. Wednesday, April 29, 2015. The Infamous Sanborns Episode. We returne...

May 21, 2015. Sitting on the cool grass, high above Esfahan on Sofeh Mountain, Abolfazl who I met only several hours before pours me another glass of tea from his thermos as he pats the damp grass between us. This spot right here this spot is where I come when I’m depressed about the state of things here. Here I feel happy here I feel freedom. How did I end up here? Hello, how are you? Where are you from. Walking into the hypermarket, it is absolutely PACKED with people! Interestingly it seems as though ...

Newer posts →. Splitsvilla 9 and Some random thoughts. June 12, 2016. Yepp, i shamelessly agree that i watch this show. While i personally loved S7, i hated S8 for many reasons. And one of those reasons was the other host Rannvijay. He is biased and 2 faced. After watching Ayushman and Nikhil host the show it is such a turn off to watch this guy. What can i say, i love Nikhil Chinnapa too much that i cannot stand anyone else. Take care guys. Happy Sunday. 😀😉. Posted in Random Thoughts. June 12, 2016.

An American in Iran…. May 14, 2015. It started several months ago when we were considering a journey from Asia to Europe overland across the old Silk road. What about Iran? I know two non-Iranians who’ve been before, one an intrepid and fearless young British kid I met back in 2007 and Yomadic. Or in fact were things as they said? I gave a half-hearted no.but I’m certain my expression told the real truth. I left Cafe Ferdowski. So there you have it. There’s a good and compelling reason NOT to visit I...

Lou Gehrig →. The Year I Met You by Cecilia Ahern. July 9, 2015. Why do we love them unconditionally? Why do we see them in a different light and why do we think that we know them better than the world? Just because we share our parents, house and some part of life, do we have to do all that? Do we have to give and take so much? Our life is always a miracle and no matter what happens, we have to live with hope for the future. I really believe in this and this book says it all in a loud and clear voice.

Travels of a Retired Teacher: University Campus... Outdoor Art Museum
http://ilovemexico2013.blogspot.com/2015/08/university-campus-outdoor-art-museum.html
Travels of a Retired Teacher. Tuesday, August 11, 2015. University Campus. Outdoor Art Museum. There are not many universities in the world which can boast a campus which is also a World Heritage Site, but in 2007 UNESCO bestowed that honor upon the University of Mexico. The university was originally housed in numerous buildings in the colonial "Centro Histórico" of Mexico City. In the early 1950s construction was begun on a new "Ciudad Universitaria". The university stadium gained fame as the venue for ...
