The Grollo family is renowned for its role in building the infrastructure and icons of a growing nation. Luigi Grollo arrived in Australia in 1928 from Treviso, Italy. Aged 18, with no job and no English, Luigi picked up work where he could. In the late 1940s he started a small concreting company in Melbourne with a few men and one truck. Over the next 50 years, this business was to grow into one of Australia’s largest and most successful construction groups.
