Grover Woodworks: 2010-05-02

http://groverwoodworks.blogspot.com/2010_05_02_archive.html

Thursday, May 6, 2010. Shop Block so I got a new tool. Anyway….  Now onto the new tool.  I have been turning for a couple years and thought I would eventually upgrade to a larger lathe well that day was today.  I found a killer deal on a Harbor Freight Lathe for $85 and couldn’t pass it down.  It is lightly used and should be a lot of fun. . Maybe playing with this will help me to get my Shop Block taken care of. . Have you ever experienced shop block.  If so let me know how you over came it? Image: Pati...

Grover Woodworks: 2011-08-21

http://groverwoodworks.blogspot.com/2011_08_21_archive.html

Monday, August 22, 2011. It has been a while since my last post. Life has been interesting the last few years and I've had very little time for woodworking or the money for that matter. It's an expensive hobby. However it is one that I love so I try and do little bits here and there. The latest project I completed was a set of Hand Planes. In a recent issue of. We start by gluing up the blank for the hand plane. It's roughly 2"x8". All the parts next to each other. Gluing all the parts together. Image: P...

Friday, May 21, 2010. Oh well.  I am pretty surprised at how I am taking messing up on this build.  I am somewhat of a perfectionist but my ultimate goal for this build was to have a playable guitar.  That’s my main focus.  I would love a good finish but that’s secondary.  As long as the thing plays and I am having fun that’s what is important. . Here are a couple of pics of the neck build. Here is the neck glued up. . Have a Great Day! Links to this post. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Subscribe in a reader.

Grover Woodworks: 2011-12-04

http://groverwoodworks.blogspot.com/2011_12_04_archive.html

Tuesday, December 6, 2011. Get The Lead Out. So recently on a woodworking forum I frequent we had a discussion about pencil sharpeners. We all were pretty much in agreement that the old school manual crank ones were the best and thus we set out on finding the ideal pencil sharpener. In my quest for the ultimate sharpener I started doing some digging on available options. There are tons of them out there X-Acto. Makes some, Stanley Bostitch. The sharpener came packed very well. Look at those beautiful poi...

Spots and Dots... Stinky Feet!: Progress?

http://stinkyfeetspots.blogspot.com/2010/02/progress.html

Tuesday, February 9, 2010. These are the first 20 motifs needed for my latest blanket. The pattern calls for 95, but I'm 99.9% sure I'll need more, so that I can drape it over the entire bed. I can usually get about 3 made a day, so at this rate, it'll take me about 4-5 weeks to complete it. Which is ok, because we have a lot of work to do in that room! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Spots and Dots... Stinky Feet!: And then she realized..

http://stinkyfeetspots.blogspot.com/2010/03/and-then-she-realized.html

Friday, March 26, 2010. And then she realized. How absolutely ridiculous the wreath looked.  And that the porch looks like it should be in Who-ville.  The wreath has been ripped off the door and it’s on to plan B.  Too bad I don’t know what plan B entails…. March 29, 2010 at 11:06 AM. But then you fixed it with a new super awesome wreath. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile. And then she realized. Spots and Dots... Stinky Feet!: February 2010

http://stinkyfeetspots.blogspot.com/2010_02_01_archive.html

Thursday, February 25, 2010. I've had this great yarn that I got to make a baby blanket with for awhile now, but it just never looked right as a baby blanket. So, it's been sitting here staring at me for months now, begging me to do something with it. Yesterday I couldn't take its judgement anymore. I started out with this:. But I just didn't think it was . enough. It seemed wimpy. So, I decided to add another layer. Now I just need to decide if it needs more or if it's enough as it is. Any thoughts?

Spots and Dots... Stinky Feet!: What you do when you can no longer stand to look at your porch.

http://stinkyfeetspots.blogspot.com/2010/03/what-you-do-when-you-can-no-longer.html

Friday, March 26, 2010. What you do when you can no longer stand to look at your porch. Yesterday, I went outside to do something while Little Monkey napped and completely forgot what I went out there to do when I looked at this:. One down, and now I realize the Christmas wreath is still on the door.  Yes, people, I realize it’s almost April! 160; At least I got the rest of decorations up before February.  (Seriously, one year it took us until March, not a proud moment.) . The Thrifty Cardinal: March 2010

http://thethriftycardinal.blogspot.com/2010_03_01_archive.html

A home renovation journey in our new nest. Sunday, March 28, 2010. I am particularly interested in bedrooms right now as we are struggling to choose paint colors, fabrics, and bedding for our master bedroom redo. (Although, it's not much of a "redo".we are basically starting from scratch.) We like a country vibe- neutral colors, a mixture of furniture finishes, painted wood, wainscoting, hardwood floors, and mismatched pieces. Donna at Funky Junk created this relaxing get away with.well, junk! Watermark ...

The Thrifty Cardinal: Living Room Remodel--Mood Board

http://thethriftycardinal.blogspot.com/2010/04/living-room-remodel-mood-board.html

A home renovation journey in our new nest. Saturday, April 10, 2010. Living Room Remodel- Mood Board. As tax-return time approaches, we have been scouring the web and magazines to find ideas for our living room. As this is our first home, our old hand-me-down furniture will be used in the finished basement rec room. This means that, for the first time, we. Get to figure out our own style. Choosing paint colors was a breeze- furniture is proving to be a little more challenging. 4 Punches of color:. The fu...
