Following a visit to Cambodia in July 2012 a small donation allowed free English lessons to commence for students at a temple at Kok Beng Village near Siem Reap. On our return to Australia we decided we wanted to offer the same opportunity to more rural Cambodian children. Growing Cambodia Inc, an Australian non-profit entity, was set up to assist in fundraising and promoting volunteer participation at the schools.

There may also be opportunities to become involved in other projects undertaken at the schools and villages. Volunteers will teach English alongside local Cambodian teachers. No experience is necessary just a positive attitude and plenty of enthusiasm. Day visits are not allowed.

Let Them Eat Cake! Tuesday, September 17, 2013. Second Wedding Cake and Working With Gumpaste. Here is my latest masterpeice. This is the best cake I have ever made. I have also never made anything that has taken SO LONG! It took me about a week. The flowers (there are about 140 of them) are each hand made out of gum paste. The centers are dusted with, you guessed it, pink pearl dust. An edible pearl was glued with royal icing in the center. The gum paste(NOT made out of gum) was sticky, and hard to work...

Monday, September 15, 2014. All reports from doctors and specialists continue. To be positive for this healthy little Camper. There were many mixed emotions as I left for work this morning. The one that stood out was thankfulness. For 12 weeks to focus on my family and helping Logan get acquainted with how we do things in this world. For a job and co workers that I looked forward to seeing. But a part time job that will allow for good balance. I know not everyone has this luxury. Nature is his playground!
