The life and times of the Muldoon family. Archive for January, 2011. On January 23, 2011 2 Comments. Last weekend we high tailed it out of town and headed for them thar’ hills! Yosemite hills to be exact. We stocked up on food rations and hiking boots and took off on a California adventure road trip. I want to take a second out to say, Hi mom! And Hi Mirabile family! Which we were driving. We oohed and ahhhed as we drove down into the Valley and got a look at El Capitan! Toward dusk, after treating ourse...

The life and times of the Muldoon family. Happy New Year and Bella Befana! January 8, 2011 by Melissa Muldoon. We rang in the new year dressed in party hats and paper crowns and created quite a mind numbing ruckus with all our party poppers, noise makers, horns and whistles! 2010 we bid thee adieu. Welcome 2011! We did however, turn out a really nice batch of risotto. It was delicious! Must have been all the wine that got added, once by Francesca and once by me! We ate desserts, drank wine and watched a ...

The life and times of the Muldoon family. Archive for May, 2011. The happiest place on earth. On May 3, 2011 Leave a Comment. We had an awesome spring break road trip to southern California! Day 1: Leaving at the crack of noon we loaded up the car and headed south to Pismo Beach, stopping at wineries in Passo Robels along the way…. Day 2: Slept in, had a big breakfast and then hit the beach! Day 4: Slept in, had a big breakfast (are you sensing a theme here? We also saw lots of Harry Potter paraphernalia...

The life and times of the Muldoon family. Archive for June, 2011. On June 19, 2011 1 Comment. Well, the big day finally arrived! Graduation ceremonies for the class of 2011 took place at 4pm on Tuesday June 14! She is the same person she was when she arrived on our door step. Sorry Vittorio and Tonia! So graduation day came and went. The remainder of the week we enjoyed catching up on sleep and the fact that we don’t have to get up to do car pool. Hallalujah! Saturday we threw a big joint graduation part...

With only a few more weeks until graduation and Quest almost completed, the kids are starting to feel antsy and a little squirelly! As in American schools). So Francesca’s case of Senioritis may not be quite as grave as Michael’s! Video included below for viewing pleasure.). Well, a Spring Break Road Trip to southern California for starters. So, that is exactly what ...

Family Thais: October 2010
http://family-thais.blogspot.com/2010_10_01_archive.html
Enjoy our experience as a host family for Penny from Thailand. Monday, October 11, 2010. Wednesday marks the two month “anniversary” of Penny’s arrival to our golden shores. That means 1/5 of her stay is over. I can hardly wrap my mind around that! It does not seem like 2 months at all. Seriously. This set the wheels in Penny’s head spinning. She asked me what I thought. I told Penny that she will be more likely to return to Thailand thinking, “Oh, I should have gone to Homecoming! 8221; than she would b...

Enjoy our experience as a host family for Penny from Thailand. Tuesday, December 21, 2010. Can It Be Nearly Christmas! I had suggested she take a sick day on the 9th so we could go to the National Tree Lighting (I know, bad momma! 8221; and push them off, and by the end of the evening, she was a pro. She also approached someone she didn’t know at the party and she struck up a conversation with them and I was very proud to watch her interaction with them. Thursday morning, I happened to get up early with ...
Family Thais: New York, New York
http://family-thais.blogspot.com/2011/06/new-york-new-york.html
Enjoy our experience as a host family for Penny from Thailand. Monday, June 27, 2011. New York, New York. Initially Penny said she only wanted to see the Statue of Liberty, she didn’t really care if we actually took the boat over to Liberty Island. However, New York and fate had other plans for us—it was an absolutely MISERABLE day, hot and wet and foggy, and when we go to South Ferry, we couldn’t see our hands in front of our faces, much less the statue! Once on the island, I issued Penny a stern warnin...

Enjoy our experience as a host family for Penny from Thailand. Tuesday, February 22, 2011. Do You Want to Host? Although we do not plan to host next year for a variety of reasons, I highly recommend that people who are interested in hosting submit an interest form to AFS and listen to what they have to say about the hosting experience! If in reading my blog, you’ve felt interested in hosting in any way, please visit http:/ www.afsusa.org. And let them know that you’d like to know more about hosting!
Family Thais: September 2010

Enjoy our experience as a host family for Penny from Thailand. Monday, September 27, 2010. Another Week Has Gone By. Can it really be that a week ago already we were celebrating Penny’s birthday? I can’t even believe it! This past week has been full of new experiences for our girl and interesting discussions and just general life. Penny said she really liked it, although it was very different from anything she’d ever eaten before. I’m happy to hear it, because she has a lot of pie to eat! Hates school or...

Enjoy our experience as a host family for Penny from Thailand. Tuesday, August 31, 2010. Today was Stafford High’s New Upperclassmen Orientation and then its school-wide open house. I decided to take Penny to both, as I felt it would be great if she could meet other kids entering upper grades who were in the same boat she was. You go to school and I will be a housewife! I think she is going to have a great year. I hope she will put herself out there and really make friends and have a blast. She t...I dec...
Family Thais: March 2011

Enjoy our experience as a host family for Penny from Thailand. Thursday, March 31, 2011. I was somewhat disappointed when Penny got here and promptly informed me that she hates reading, as reading is a great passion of mine. I was determined to make the kid read something, and it has taken me 7 months, but I found a book she wanted to read…. Yes, people, we are reading The Hunger Games. On The Road Again! I was SO disappointed, but since Penny is afraid of heights, she was happy not to be going up there&...

Enjoy our experience as a host family for Penny from Thailand. Sunday, January 16, 2011. It’s hard to believe Christmas came and went so quickly! We were so busy that we didn’t get a bunch of things done that we had hoped to accomplish, but we had an amazing holiday. We also took time while Penny had several days off from school due to snow to work on a gingerbread house kit together. Leah was not very happy with the whole project, but Penny and I enjoyed putting it together. Christmas Day dawned bright ...
Family Thais: November 2010

Enjoy our experience as a host family for Penny from Thailand. Monday, November 1, 2010. The Rest of October. The rest of October is gone in an absolute blur. I remember taking Penny and Leah to the mall for their photo shoot, and I more or less don’t remember a thing afterwards until I looked at the calendar today and saw a big, fat number 1 on it and thought, “Oh man, it’s November already! Then it was one week till Halloween! I made Leah a little happy pumpkin and in the other pumpkins we had gotten, ...

Enjoy our experience as a host family for Penny from Thailand. Monday, May 30, 2011. Drawing to a Close…. It’s hard to believe but in less than one month, our first year as an AFS host family will be over. I am really in shock, as I think about it, that there’s so little time left—4 weeks, just 28 little days, and it’s over and done. Sheesh! 8221; quite loudly, and it was the most she said for a week, and a sweet memory to this day. Afterwards, Melissa dropped Penny off with my sister, Judy, and her fami...

Thankfully Jeremy's mom and husband graciously welcomed their grand babies in to their home for 5 whole days! Nanna and Papa Rich put in a pool complete with a little sandy beach so the kids enjoyed lots of fun in the sun :).

Growing Family Robinson
Wednesday, August 5, 2015. It wouldn’t be the 4. Of July without Granddaddy Charlie’s Annual Fish Fry. As always, it was a big hit with a big crowd. Our Cousin’s Picture was a little more challenging this year, but oh so cute. Kobey was precious with Baby Carter. The day wasn’t all fun and games, because the corn was ready to be picked so the guys went and picked it…which was a first for Craig. Our neighbors put on the best firework show in all three directions! Carter loved it…Charley didn’t! We celebra...

Growing Family Through Adoption
Growing Family Through Adoption. We were a family of three who grew our family through the process of open, domestic, transracial adoption. God has blessed us and we are thankful. Thursday, August 18, 2011. I started a new blog to combine the two blogs I currently update. I wanted one place to update everything and I didn't want to feel like I had dueling blogs for each of my kiddos. So, please join me at. I plan on updating general things about our family and still discussing adoption. We already knew t...

So much has happened in the last few months that I have really neglected my Blog and the updates have not been coming. Sorry. If you look at my previous Blog, my life was turned on edge when we were informed that we had been approved for emigration to Australia. Our house is sold and we will be. Moving shortly into rented accommodation. If you cannot, thank...
