Growing Up Me

The Cat Is Team Bella! I recall being able to have a nice tall cold glass of milk with Grandpa Golding with our breakfast. It is interesting how some things are as vivid as if it had just happened and for me a nice cold glass of milk takes me back to sitting at the table with grandpa eating breakfast. Growing Up Me: November 2008

The Cat Is Team Bella! Because it was dangerous. To us kids the adults were just being a pain, because of course we knew how to climb without falling off or knocking them over. Once we found where the nests were we would watch them every day and collect the eggs. When I was 8 there was a movie that I wanted to see more than anything. This. The girls and I, ok mostly me, would take a bath towel and using a safety pin would transform the drab bath towel into our very own Superman’s cape. Up in the sky!

My Favorite Poems: Pray

http://dalespoetrycollection.blogspot.com/2008/11/pray.html

Sunday, November 30, 2008. I got up early one morning. And rushed into the day. I had so much to accomplish. That I didn’t have time to pray. Problems came tumbling about me. And heaver came each task. Why doesn’t God help me, I wondered. He answered “You didn’t ask.”. I wanted to see Hoy and beauty. But the day dragged on gray and bleak. I wondered why God didn’t show me. He said, “You didn’t seek.”. I tried to come into God’s presence. I used all my keys at the lock. God gently and loving chided.

My Favorite Poems: Christ Has Been There Before

http://dalespoetrycollection.blogspot.com/2008/12/christ-has-been-there-before.html

Sunday, December 14, 2008. Christ Has Been There Before. 8220;The road is too rough,” I said. "My Lord,. There are stones that hurt me so.”. He softly answered, “Dear child, I understand;. I walked it long ago”. 8220;But there’s a cool green path,” I said;. 8220;Let me walk there for a time.”. 8220;No child,” He gently answered me,. 8220;The green road does not climb.”. 8220;My burden,” I said, “Is far too great;. How can I bear it so? 8220;My child,” said He, “I know its weight –. Was hard to face alone!

My Favorite Poems: The Second Chance

http://dalespoetrycollection.blogspot.com/2009/01/second-chance.html

Tuesday, January 20, 2009. We may not have the means at hand. To change a circumstance. But we may gain, to our relief,. A welcome second chance. A chance to prove that we will try,. With all our might and mind,. To change our way, to right some wrong,. And pull our weight again. So let us thank the generous folk. Who overlook our lapse,. And put their trust in our success,. Where once we failed, perhaps. The second chance can bring results,. The first one to out weigh. A little more each day.

My Favorite Poems: Good Timber

http://dalespoetrycollection.blogspot.com/2008/12/good-timber.html

Monday, December 1, 2008. The tree that never had to fight. For sun and sky and air and light,. But stood out in the open plain. And always got its share of rain,. Never became a forest king. But lived and died a scrubby thing. The man who never had to toil. To gain and farm his patch of soil,. Who never had to win his share. Of sun and sky and light and air,. Never became a manly man. But lived and died as he began. Good timber does not grow with ease:. The stronger wind, the stronger trees;.

Tuesday, May 5, 2009. No Word From You. Ain’t you got no paper friend? Ain’t you got no pen? Ain’t you got no envelope. To put the letter in? Is you got the writers cramp? Or is you broke your arm? Is you got the rheumatis. From staying out so long? Ain’t ya got no better thoughts. About me feelin blue? Don’t you know it’s been ages. Since I heard from you? Is you lost my address. And lost my letter too? Don’t you know I’m bout to die. For lack for word form you? Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Sunday, May 31, 2009. The man who wants a garden fair,. Or small or very big,. With flowers growing here and there,. Must bend his back and dig. The things are mighty few on earth. That wishes can attain. Whate'er we want of any worth. We've got to work to gain. It matters not what goal you seek. Its secret here reposes:. You've got to dig from week to week. My Favorite Poems: If You Only Would

http://dalespoetrycollection.blogspot.com/2009/12/if-you-only-would.html

Monday, December 14, 2009. If You Only Would. There’s so much you could do if you only would. Evil to turn into channels of good;. Lives to brighten and hearts to be warmed. Neighborhood services to be performed. Old folks to visit, and young folks to guide;. Somebody somewhere for whom to provide. Wide is the field if you’re willing to do. Something for others less favored than you. Lamps of affection to trim and relight. Wherever you look there are wrongs to put right. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

My Favorite Poems: I Believe in Christ

http://dalespoetrycollection.blogspot.com/2008/12/i-believe-in-christ.html

Sunday, December 7, 2008. I Believe in Christ. I believe in Christ; he is my King! With all my heart to him I’ll sing;. I’ll raise my voice in praise and joy,. In grand amens my tongue employ. I believe in Christ; he is God’s Son. On earth to dwell his soul did come. He healed the sick; the dead he raised. Good works were his; his name be praised. I believe in Christ; oh blessed name! As Mary’s Son he came to reign. 8217;Mid mortal men, his earthly kin,. To save them from the woes of sin.

My Favorite Poems: Availability, Dependability, and Capability

http://dalespoetrycollection.blogspot.com/2009/03/availability-dependability-and.html

Sunday, March 15, 2009. Availability, Dependability, and Capability. The Lord does not ask about our ability or inability,. But only about our availability. If we prove our dependability,. The Lord takes care of our capability. Neil A. Maxwell. Nice photo. I have been there many times and have noticed that through my availability I have developed dependability such that I have greatly increased my capability. Such a beautiful temple and so many faithful patrons. September 8, 2010 at 7:32 PM.

The Best Damn Dad Blog. Period. Sunday, January 31, 2010. Raising a daughter in the age of Lady Gaga. Is that what it's come to? One of the most celebrated female artists of the year is a self-described "soul-less" performer who prances around the stage surrounded by women in tight leotards with stretch fabric covering their faces. What in the hell are we watching here? Something tells me that GreenDay's album title "American Idiot" was actually a prophetic description of Lady Gaga's rise to fame. This y...
