Catherine and Philo were born in New York but journeyed to Ohio in 1864 with Sarah, Amy, Rachel, Louisa, Katherine and Joanna. A seventh daughter, Lucy, was born in Ohio. When Philo died in 1869 the oldest daughter Sarah was 18 and the youngest Lucy was 2. Catherine was 48. According to Amy's daughter Mabel, all of the women were s.
