Lurcher Tails: May 2013
http://lurchertails.blogspot.com/2013_05_01_archive.html
Friday, 31 May 2013. A lovely summer day in the half term holiday means it is a great excuse to get out of town with boys and lurchers. We came for the bluebells, but who csn resist the charms of forget-me-nots, seen here with equally delightful red campion and some sort of umbillifer. Sunday, 26 May 2013. The bluebells are out in Denton Dene. :-D. Location: Newcastle upon Tyne, Tyne and Wear, UK. Monday, 20 May 2013. Where are the ents when you need them? Location: Newcastle upon Tyne, Tyne and Wear, UK.

Lurcher Tails: January 2012
http://lurchertails.blogspot.com/2012_01_01_archive.html
Wednesday, 25 January 2012. Yesterday's walk had to wait long after our lurchers' regular walkies. Cath and I had both been out all day and she was tired when she got in. I put the one working flashing collar on Rover because he tends to go further than Amazon, then set off on our perambulations. Off we trotted, me keeping a nice steady pace, they at full pelt and many sidelong glances to reproach me for my lack of speed. It was a bit cloudy but the rain had ceased, which was nice. Monday, 23 January 2012.

Lurcher Tails: Back to real walks
http://lurchertails.blogspot.com/2014/06/back-to-real-walks.html
Monday, 16 June 2014. Back to real walks. We have been away for a while now, for a number of reasons which predate our move from South West Denton. We moved to Benwell last July and that was not really a very inspiring place for lurcher tales. The picture is just a quick one of R and A on a path through a rape seed field near home, just to show that there have not been any more changes in the dog lineup since my last post. Lurcher Tails: Route via Coalburms (post lost and found from over the summer)
http://lurchertails.blogspot.com/2014/10/route-via-coalburms.html
Wednesday, 22 October 2014. Route via Coalburms (post lost and found from over the summer). It is a beautiful Friday and the conflicting need to tidy the house and desire to set off on a long lurcher ramble was won by the latter - hands down. So we are heading to the head of Moor Road and from there heading across country to Coalburms, a tiny place with nothing to recommend it except a little blue mug symbol on the map. So we have turned around and looked for somewhere shady to have lunch. On the way we ...

Lurcher Tails: June 2013
http://lurchertails.blogspot.com/2013_06_01_archive.html
Friday, 21 June 2013. Midsummer - state of the ponds. Well, it may be a cooler day, but the top pond in the Dene is now waterless, though still damp. Ponds two and three still have standing water, but the fourth is as waterless as the top one. I rarely go past the ponds, as they are a bit of a detour, but today is an exception. I thought I would see the effects of three or four weeks without significant rain and high temperatures (dare I call it summer? Location: Newcastle upon Tyne, Tyne and Wear, UK.

Lurcher Tails: September 2013
http://lurchertails.blogspot.com/2013_09_01_archive.html
Wednesday, 18 September 2013. You know you have one of those great ideas, that turns out to be, well, not so great? Well, the idea was to walk the lurchers home from the garage as the car is in for its MOT. We have moved recently and the walk would take them through their old patch - Denton Dene. Lurcher Tails: A dull day in Stanleyburn Dene
http://lurchertails.blogspot.com/2014/10/a-dull-day-in-stanleyburn-dene.html
Wednesday, 22 October 2014. A dull day in Stanleyburn Dene. We are off on a set piece walk today but in the opposite direction because there was a letter to put in the post. Actually I think it might be an improvement because there was a bin this way and they disappear soon enough down Moor Road. We are heading down the public footpath through Prudhoe Hospital and the dene is opening in front of us:. I think the hardest thing about owning dogs is watching them grow older, seeing them slow down and take l...

Lurcher Tails: August 2014
http://lurchertails.blogspot.com/2014_08_01_archive.html
Tuesday, 12 August 2014. The lurchers and I are at Northumberlandia today which is a bit of a downer for them because they have to stay on the lead. Initial view of Northumberlandia - her face in profile between two gateway mounds. Northumberlandia's right arm and bosom. You can just make out one of her open eyes. Blagdon Estates open-cast workings continue adjacent to the Lady. View from the Lady's brow. You can just see her eyes gazing up into the clouds and the ridge of her nose. If you follow...The r...
