http://gse5510.blogspot.com/2007_10_01_archive.html

GSE 5510 - Niigata, Japan. Wednesday, October 31, 2007. Our Friend, Mr. Tachikawa-san. This brief post is a shout-out to our friend, the GSE Chairman, Tachikawa-san. He's done. A day in the life. Woke up this morning to find our picture in the newspaper. Not just once, but three times. In color. This sort of thing really drives home the point that we are here in the very public eye representing Rotary International. I mentioned to Dan, our fearless leader, that an English Teacher friend of mine in the pr...

GSE 5510 - Niigata, Japan: some observations

http://gse5510.blogspot.com/2007/11/claudia-and-i-have-had-several.html

GSE 5510 - Niigata, Japan. Sunday, November 11, 2007. Claudia and I have had several opportunities to talk with women here about balancing work and family life. The days when a woman walked ten paces behind her husband are. By this role, either). So, while women may be encouraged and supported. Interesting side note: many women can take up to a year off from their. Of course there are women who completely defy the norm, such as Kashima-san. My current host mom. She's amazing! GSE5510Australia

Sunday, August 28, 2011. Well, friends, we did return home safely - with brief goodbyes at the airport (hey, we'd just spent a month together! We went our separate ways for sleep, time with friends and family, and Mexican food. We slowly but surely returned the routines of our lives - all the while knowing that we were somehow forever changed by this incredible experience. A dinner filled with great Mexican food and good margaritas, and stories and laughter until our tummies hurt, was a perfect reunion.

Thursday, September 24, 2009. Heather here - Wow! Can't believe we hadn't posted anything since the 15th! That last week was quite busy! While we were with the Pitlochry club, they took us to the theater. We saw The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie. It was very well done and quite entertaining! After a whirlwind couple of days in Pitlochry, we headed up to Avimore for the District Conference and the last leg of our trip. The sonar on the boat showed the depth of the Loch, nearly 800 feet in some areas. But they...

Rotary Group Study Exchange 5840/7030

Rotary Group Study Exchange 5840/7030. May 14, 2012. Yes, we’re finally back in Texas and it’s good to be home. It’s good to get some rest, too. Our blog didn’t cover most of the vocational exchange and Rotary events we took part in, but we’ve been very busy these past four weeks. GSE is so much more than what we’ve shared here; it is hard work and very rewarding. May 13, 2012. It was an incredible learning experience and I think we all came home with a better understanding of what it means to be a Rotar...
