Seattle. The new Vegas. When it comes to turning 24 that is. My sister Katie has celebrated many- a- birthday in Vegas but this year wanted to do something a little different. OK, so our trip to the Big Apple was actually last summer but its worthy of a blog update since it was our first trip without the kids. ever! We packed a lot in during the trip including; Serendipity, The World Trade Center site and museum, The Statue of Liberty, The Jekyll and Hyde Club, Times Square, Central Park, shopping on Canal St. in Chinatown, and getting lost in Queens- got on the subway heading in the wrong direction, oops, sorry! Very late post about Disneyland (take 2). It's been more than two months since Maddy and I went to Disneyland with Stephanie and Mathew. As I mentioned before, Chelsea was also visiting Disneyland with Sydney and Chloe so we planned to meet up with them for the last couple of days. We anxiously awaited the holiday with so much to be thankful for. My dad, mom and both of my sisters flew up to spend Thanksgiving with us (for the first time ever! We packed a lot in to their week-long stay and, of course, it went by too fast. They arrived in the afternoon the Tuesday before Thanksgiving. Nothing in life is free. Today as I was folding laundry the doorbell rang. It was around 5pm so I assumed it was my friend coming to pick up her son, even though she usually knocks. A nice looking girl stood there saying they are in the area doing a free carpet cleaning. "One whole room free" and "don't worry, I'm not selling anything" was all she said. I said OK, sounds great! I, myself am not a huge turkey fan so I am very happy to feast on Dungeness crab and Prime Rib instead! Since I am still not working, my dad, mom, and both of my sisters started planning their Thanksgiving trip to Seattle months ago. My dad is an AMAZING cook and looked forward to preparing dinner at our house. The last time my mom, dad, and sisters were all in town at the same time was for my wedding- so quite a special treat! Where have I been? I do not even know where to start! Nothing too exciting- I've been very busy with school which is going very well. I am midway through my third quarter and am looking forward to applying to the nursing program about a year from now. Here is a recap of the last 6 months:. Savannah started soccer (and first grade! We got a puppy who we named Guinness. Maddy likes to sit on the potty but won't use it. Savannah and I went to Great Wolf Lodge with Chelsea and Sydney for a "girl's weekend".
