The First Step – Youth Expedition Project. Siem Reap Day 2. September 30, 2007. We spent most of the day at LHA’s Children’s Development Village, which houses 45 orphans and street children in huts like this one. One of their classrooms which we are going to refurbish in December. We met 5 other volunteers over there, including 3 Social Work majors from Germany who are spending 6 months there to help out, a lawyer from UK and a Canadian. We even met for dinner that night. Friday, December 26, 2008. The Year 2008, in Chinese Pop. In the same style as the last two years' ( 2006. Here's my annual list of top 20 favourites:. 1 许茹芸 - 男人女人. Great duet, great comeback album, great voice. 2 方大同 - Love Song. Probably the best Chinese R&B singer around, although the latest Singalong Song didn't really work for me. 3 杨宗纬 - 洋葱. I still can't quite appreciate his voice and his bitter expressions but this song is hard to resist because everyone was talking about it. 4 林宥嘉 - 伯乐. I suspe...

Saturday, May 08, 2010. When in doubt, always title the post using a song. And there's no song to better describe my current state of affairs really. This exam period has been the longest ever - three weeks into the 期末考 and it's still not over yet! On a happier note, two nights ago I texted in to the radio to take part in a silly contest and lo, it earned me $100 of spare cash! Ah well, the things bored and lonely people do. Posted @ 11:49 PM. Idea of the Day. Bridge Over the Ox. A Sip of Tea.

Saturday, December 09, 2006. Since I've run out of things to blog about and trivialities like buying a new phone and becoming jobless again are not exactly my idea of blog-worthy, I shall just make good what I promised myself to do at the end of the year - A Top 10 playlist for 2006. So here it goes, in chronological order of the songs' release. Another huge commercial success after 看我72变, and I was right in this post. Very ktv and radio friendly as usual but I just like this one a lot. I think it ha...

http://byponders.blogspot.com/2007/12/year-in-chinese-pop-i-had-decided-this.html
Sunday, December 23, 2007. The Year, in Chinese Pop. I had decided this will be a yearly tradition after its debut last year. And there's no reason for me to stop seeing that I have chosen HC805 - Directed Readings of Modern Chinese Song Lyrics as my first choice of elective next semester. This year, I shall be more generous and do a Top 20 instead. So here are the songs that have taken pride of place in my 2007 playlist, in order of release. 1 五月天 - 米老鼠. 2 TANK - 专属天使. Okay, this is Hana-kimi effect.
