Then we moved in together and he has to get up for work somewhere on the order of hours earlier than I do and while I would still appreciate the thought of a steaming mug of tea, I think I'd prefer sleeping to actually getting up on his schedule just to drink some tea. And I went to New York for a few days to celebrate. A Little Night Music. Being married for six months. Which, for the record, went by really really fast. At Serendipity for coffee in the middle of the night and had lunch the next day with. At a tasty place in KoreaTown in between acquiring tickets to. I also may have decided that ...

Luck of the Draw - Caught in Contemplation. Luck of the Draw. Laquo; previous entry. Next entry ». Apr 14th, 2009 01:10 pm. Nationals was the weekend before last. Steve and I danced well, I think. overall the dancing is getting better - ours and, sadly, everyone else's. At least we left with dancing that we felt good about, with moments we really really loved, and with a clear sense of our goals (even if they mean we have a lot to work on). To Do lists are becoming very good friends. Even considering the...

NYC, What Is It about You? A Quiet Time of Year. Friends, friendship and parcels of time. Breaking down and building up. Dreams and wishes and midnight musings. A lengthy collection of half-formed thoughts, more than tidbits, less than entries. Religion, rest and reflection. NYC, What Is It about You? May 4th, 2010 07:07 pm. Windows Vista - ternarybits
http://ternarybits.livejournal.com/4870.html
Windows Vista - ternarybits. Oct 7th, 2006 11:24 pm. So I tried installing Windows Vista RC2 on my desktop this afternoon. How did it go? Well, I'm back on XP after about an hour. =). Vista is definitely slick - it's got a much prettier (default) UI than XP. I felt that it's generally more usable than XP as well. On the down-side, the screen fade-in-fade-out effect that you get every time a system popup appears is disconcerting, and the security "features" are really in-your-face annoying. You should tes...

follow-up: female characters and Miyazaki's films - Accretions

Follow-up: female characters and Miyazaki's films - Accretions. Follow-up: female characters and Miyazaki's films. As a follow-up to my post earlier today about Pixar's not-so-great record of female character numbers. Only 22% of voiced characters are female, and only one is *possibly* a main character), I wanted to highlight that making popular animated movies with good female lead characters can. Be, and in fact has. Apparently fails the reverse Bechdel Test. There are not two male. Nausicaä of the Val...

something to do: That's why I work here
http://ternarybits.blogspot.com/2006/03/thats-why-i-work-here.html
Monday, March 13, 2006. That's why I work here. For the last six months or so, the old section of my building, including the main company gym/fitness center, has been closed off for renovation. Last week, they announced that it was almost ready to open again, and listed a "few new features". One feature in particular caught my eye: "group exercise room with hardwood floors". I had to check it out for myself. I can't wait to see what other "features" the new fitness center will have. P We offer message-bo...
