Thursday, July 30, 2009. We have reached the tiny island of Caye Caulker in Belize, and are enjoying the abundant sun (maybe not Steve so much as he is seeking cover under any palm trees he can find). There are no cars, and just bicycles and golf carts to get around - or, like us, you can just walk as the whole island is just a few hundred meters. You can only get here by boat. Plus, getting the park to ourselves at sunset the night before was pretty nice as well (see below). We're off to the beach!

Buses are definitely the way to go to get around the country. There are four bus stations (Terminal Norte, Oriente, Poniente, Sur) which leave from Mexico city and service different destinations, fairly explanatory going N,S,E,W of the city. Trolley buses or the Metro are the best way to get to these terminals. There are lots of different bus companies, which can initially seem overwhelming. We found ETN by far the BEST! Primera Plus was our trusty second, because they have a more extensive service.
