Woven corte, or mayan skirt, indigo navy with white stripes and rows of flowers! This elegant corte measures 41 wide and 53 long (laid flat). Very rare, vintage tzute from the remote village of San Mateo Ixtatán. These are very difficult to come by. This beautiful tzute measures 35″ by 53″ and is fully finished. This vintage tzute is in very good condition for its age. It shows some dingy/dirty sections along the edges in the white muslin fabric that is the base of this beautiful textile.

Lovely woven corte, or mayan skirt, full of flower vases with mayan figures! It is from the town of Zuníl. The corte is a wrap-around skirt that consists of a cut of cloth joined to form a tube into which the woman steps. Excess material is wrapped around the body and folded at the waist in pleats, and tied with a faja (belt). August 5, 2009 at 4:16 pm.

This tzute is lovely with its hand-embroidered design in brilliant colors of red, yellow, purple, black, and blue sewn on a simple muslin cotton background. This soft huipil measures 28″ across the shoulders, and 23″ from the shoulders to the bottom hem. The collar is diamond shaped and each of the four sides measures 5″.
