Anthea's Virtual Jotter (AVJ). The ramblings of a former refugee from rainy Manchester to rather less rainy (in my opinion) Vigo, at present a returnee to Manchester which is still as rainy as it ever was. Monday, 4 May 2015. Bikes Music. Luxury accommodation for nesting birds. Our kitchen is beginning to look like a bike shop. First of all there are the two bikes that Phil and I occasionally use. Far too occasionally at present! Some of the vinyl collection has been replaced by CDs but not all and their...

The ramblings of a former refugee from rainy Manchester to rather less rainy (in my opinion) Vigo, at present a returnee to Manchester which is still as rainy as it ever was. Friday, 22 May 2015. Today I have been updating my recipe scrapbook. (There I go, like a Victorian lady with my scrapbook! Then I consider the practicality of the recipe. How realistic is it that I will spend as long as the recipe calls for in preparation? This last has led to the ruling out of many a ...

Tuesday, 17 February 2009. Un Bocadillo Vegetal Please.the not so vegetarian roll. I imagine being a vegetarian can be difficult at the best of times, especially when eating out. Here in Spain that challenge takes on a whole new twist. The vegetable sandwich/roll can include some decidedly non vegetarian content. A typical vege sandwich will contain; ham, tuna, cheese, egg, maybe some lettuce, tomato and a corn mayonnaise. Another classic is the humble salad, when in its vegetarian form will include tuna.

A rather nondescript day! No, a somewhat disappointing day! Can I claim that it mysteriously slipped through my fingers? Does frittering it away count as "something happening to my money"? Then we had what was made to look like a hand-written letter from the Liberal Democrats, th...

Bad for your health is something called BASE jumping or B.A.S.E. jumping. BASE jumping is an extreme sport. As far as I can tell, extreme sports are practised by people with no sense of what might happen to them, or possible just with no sense! I think I'll just stay in!
